Cure for Cancer

(Two Weeks later {Ava's POV})

This new year has been awesome. I have a wonderful boyfriend and an awesome new family. Unfortunately the SMASH base was blown up. So now we all stay in Avengers Tower. It gets crowded at some points, but luckily Tony renovated two other floors into living space and we all have our room now. On the highest living floor is a living room with a fully stocked kitchen and some spare parts rooms. The floor under that is where The Avengers, plus Pepper and other than Natasha stays. The floor under that is where Natasha and the Agents of SMASH, other than Ric, stays. The floor under that is where Ric, Zoe, and I stay.

"Ms. Banner, it is now 6 A.M. and you start work in two hours. Mr. Stark wants me to remind you that you will be working with him in his personal lab most of the day today and to report to the kitchen as soon as you are ready." Jarvis announces, waking me up.

"Thanks Jarv. Wake Zoe up in an hour will ya?"

"Will do Ms. Banner." I take a shower and try to find something to wear. Tony wants me to wear casual clothes. But I don't know. It's only my third day working at Stark Industries. But he's the boss. I eventually find a pair of red skinny jeans with a thin brown belt, a white tank top with a weird anchor pattern, and a pair of my brown UGG boots. I curl my hair and put some make up on. I now have an hour to eat and get to work with Tony.

I normally work with dad in his lab, or in one of Tony's labs that he let's other people go into. But today he wants me to work in his personal lab with him. I don't know why. And frankly I don't care, as long as I get to work in a lab, and he pays me. I walk downstairs and I only see Clint and Loki fighting over one of my leftover blueberry pancakes I made yesterday. Such kids.

"I can make more if you really want one?" I say, announcing me presence in the room. They both look at my and their eyes light up. I go into the kitchen and make a dozen new pancakes.

"There. Now stop fighting like children!" I say annoyed I only have fifteen minuted to eat. I grab two pancakes and get in the elevator to Tony's lab.

(Tony's POV)

I wanted Ava to work with me in my lab today. I have seen how much progress she makes while working with a bunch of other people and while taking orders. I just want to see how she acts while she is the one giving the orders. And sadly, I will not be the one giving her orders. Being ordered around by a sixteen year old. Why did I do this?

I am setting up a lab area for Ava and I hear the elevator ring.

"Hey Tony." Ava greets. I turn around and see her eating pancakes. She makes the best blueberry pancakes.

"Morning."

"So why do you want me working her today?" She asks.

"I have seen how well you work with taking orders. So now I want to see how well you do while giving them." I explain.

"I get to boss Tony Stark around?" She smirks. "Today might not be so bad after all."

"We are going to be working on a cure for Thyroid Cancer today. I have been working on it for a while with Bruce and he said it might be a good start today for you. I'll brief you on we have found so far." I explain and tell her on what we have found.

"So you good?' I ask.

"Yeah good. Say, what happens if I were to have already found a cure?" She asks while smirking.

"No. You didn't."

"Yeah, I did. Want to take a look?"

"God dammit. Yeah" I say defeated. She just laughs and runs into the elevator. How the hell has a sixteen year old found a cure for cancer while two fully grown genius men haven't? Moments later I hear the elevator ding and Bruce comes out.

"Where's Ava?" He asks.

"Guess who already had a damn cure for Thyroid cancer?!" I practically yell. Then the elevator dings again and Ava comes out with a couple of test tubes.

"You have a cure?" Bruce asks confused.

"Yup. She does!" I yell again.

"I'll take a look and let you calm down Tony." Bruce laughs while taking a test tube from Ava and examining it.

(15 Minutes later {Ava's POV})

"It looks better than what we have come up with." Bruce says confirming that the cure Ava has found should work.

"I need a drink." I say and go up to the bar.

(Ava's POV)

"How did you find this?" Dad asks. after Tony goes up to what I assume is the bar.

"Long story short I never get a good nights rest and I wanted to try to make a difference. So yeah." I say smiling. "I'm gonna go check up on Tony." I say while I walk to the elevator. I get up to the bar and see Tony sitting there.

"Hey Tony."

"The building might as well say 'Banner' on it." He mumbles and takes another sip from his glass. "I'm giving you your own floor and own lab. I will line up some of the best and smartest people I know and you can interview them yourself tomorrow." 

"What!?"

"I mean, you can obviously get shit done." 

"Are you sure?" I ask.

"Yup. Tomorrow at 11:30. I will be there too help with the interviews. And we can start planning you lab and floor layout today. For now just enjoy your paid day off." He says and pours himself another glass and gets in the elevator. Wow. I go to get a can of soda when I feel a poke in my neck. After that everything goes dark.
