*Reid's POV*

My phone puzzled early the next morning. A text.

I rolled over and looked at my phone. It said it was a message from a blocked number. The message was a picture and I nearly got sick when I seen it.

The picture was of Mel. She was tied to something. A pole. Her wrists had some dry blood. Her pants were ripped with more dry blood. Her eyes were closed. Hopefully she was unconscious.

A text came with the photo. It read: "here's your picture. I keep my promises Spencer-Justin"

I quickly got up and got dressed in my usual outfit. White dress shirt with a pair of jeans, a tie and my mismatching socks (for good luck. We really needed that right now).

I skipped breakfast. I was afraid that if I ate, I'd throw up once looked at that picture again.

I slipped in my black converse and was out the door. I called Hotch as I walked down the stairs.

"Hello?" he answered.

"I got a text this morning from a blocked number. It's a picture of Mel. I'm on my way to the office now to see if Garcia can track where it came from." I said.

"Reid, if it's a blocked number, there's a chance we won't be able to find it."

"I need to try, Hotch."

"Don't get your hopes up."

I stopped at the drivers side door of the rental car.

"Hope is all I have left, Hotch. If I lose hope, I lose Mel."

And with that, I hung up, got into the car and drove to the FBI building. I called each member of the team, letting them know that I needed them at the office ASAP.

"What's this about, Reid?" Morgan asked.

I had gotten to the office about 20 minutes ago. Hotch had gotten there first and Morgan was last.

"He got a picture of Mel." JJ replied.

"What? From Justin?"

"Who else would it be from?" I snapped. Morgan held up his hands, defensively.

"Can I see?" he asked.

I passed him my phone before going over and sitting on my desk. His mouth gaped open as he looked it over. I lowered my head and closed my eyes. I could see her. She looked like a beat up rag doll. Mel.

"Spencer."

I looked up at Gideon.

"He won't kill her, right?" I said. "I mean, she's his leverage over us. If he kills her, he knows we'll be after him in a matter of second."

"Spencer." Gideon repeated, putting a hand on my shoulder. It was good to have him back. He was so calming.

"I'm sorry. I just, I want her back safe and sound."

"We all do. Don't worry." I nodded. "I just wish you found her before I spent all that money on those tickets to that Red Skins game for you and JJ."

I laughed.

"I didn't ask you to do that you know." I pointed out.

"You needed a bit of wing manning."

"Not anymore. Obviously."

"Obviously."

We both laughed.

"Reid."

I looked up at Garcia. She had fear and sadness in her eyes. She was close friends with Mel and whenever one of us was in danger, she was always the most concerned.

"Hotch told me. If it's a blocked number, I probably won't be able to track it. You know that, right?" she said.

"The key word is 'probably'." I reminded her, passing her my phone. "But if you find anything-"

"You'll be the first to know." Garcia finished. She took my phone and went to her little lair.

The room was silent and the tension was growing. The clock was ticking and if we didn't hurry, what would happen to Mel? Would Justin kill her? Or would he continue to torture her until we found her, making her worst then before.

"Emily?"

The name caused me to snap out of my trance. I looked up to see a woman with black hair standing at the door. And that woman happened to be Emily Prentiss.

"Emily?" I repeated the statement from before.

"Hey guys." she said, awkwardly. "I'm back."

"What are you doing here?" Morgan asked.

Emily held up something. It was an invitation to mine and Mel's wedding.

"I got it in the mail." she said. "From a Melanie Hotchner. At first, I thought it was a joke because, well, it says Reid's getting married."

Everyone in the room laughed, including me.

"But then, I realized it was real. And I heard on the news that a Melanie Hotchner from Quantico, Virginia was kidnapped and I got the first flight in." she explained. "I see Gideon had the same idea?"

"I came in before she was kidnapped." Gideon replied. "Good to see you again, Prentiss."

"You too sir." she said. "Have you guys gotten anything?"

"A picture." JJ replied. "He sent it to Reid. We're getting Garcia to track it down now."

Suddenly, Garcia came out of her lair and passed me my phone. Her eyes were apologetic.

"Nothing. It's hard to track a block number, even for a great hacker like me." she said. "But. If you examine the background, you can see that it's pretty empty, meaning wherever they are might be abandoned."

I thanked her and sighed.
