New Target

I'm what some people would call a demon. It's my job to go around making people miserable. We get assigned someone to torment until we're told otherwise. Pretty sweet right? Getting to torment people, not getting any repercussions, just suffering. Only the human we're tormenting can see us, it helps us make others think that they're crazy. We can do anything, make anything happen, except end our target's life.

"Hey, I'm back!" I yelled into the office. Honestly, the underworld is pretty nice, everyone gets their own cubicle, well, if you work there. Yes, it is a job.

I sat down at the desk, waiting for someone to give me my next assignment.

"Here." I heard a voice say, and a folder plopped down on the desk. The man who put it there? Satan, the devil, whatever you wanna call him.

I slowly reached for the folder, opening it to get a look at its contents. Inside was a file on a girl named Annika , Annika Delarosa. She was thirteen with blond hair cut to her shoulders and bright green eyes.

"Apparently, she's teased everyday. Honestly, I don't see why it's a problem, but humans are weird." He told me, "She wants to die, but honestly it's a stretch. Her problems aren't that bad, but she seems to think so."

"Maybe they really are bad if they're driving her to hate herself." I told him.

"I guess so, but I've seen worse, the medieval times were quite bad. I swear, everyone came in without a head."

I looked up at him, "So, what do you want me to do?"

"Get her to do it, make her seem crazy. Either get her sent to an asylum or make her end it all. I'll make sure she gets a good job here." Of course, all of the suicides became workers here. We didn't truly commit a sin, so we're just used to fill out paperwork. If you do a good enough job, then you can be promote to take souls.

"Fine, is there a time limit?" I asked him. Some of them did, because after a certain amount of time, they might die of natural causes and get sent to Heaven.

"Just try to get it done within a couple days, she'll soon meet some people that could possibly save her."

I sighed, "Okay, I'll take the job."
