London, Bethnal Green, 1952.
Monday mornings were always cold and dreary, especially in the East End of London. It felt like the most ideal weather to do chores in, perfectly mirroring the eighteen year olds miserable attitude towards it. With a metal bucket to her right and a brush in hand, she began to roughly scrub at the front door step to her parents home. "Argh!" Quietly huffed the female as she clumsily dropped the brush into the dirty soap water withheld in the metal bucket, a splash of water soaking her light blue pinafore. "...Bollocks." She whispered quietly beneath her breath and dove to the very bottom to retrieve said brush. It wasn't long before she was back into her usual rhythm, quietly humming as she floated off into her own little world for a while. "You're doing a grand job there, treacle." Announced a deep voice from behind, she could almost envision the smug expression across the stranger's face. "Thank you." Came her hushed reply as she slipped a hand behind to smooth over her dress, ensuring she was kept covered in the blustery winds. "What's your name?" "I don't have one." She shot back in annoyance, a slight frown across her forehead. "I'm sensing negative energy 'ere, darlin. I upset you or somethin'? Come on now, face me, it's rude to keep your back to a man." Replied the male, reaching to grab hold of the eighteen year olds elbow. "Get off me!" She exclaimed, standing to her feet immediately with tearful eyes. "If you don't leave me alone, I'll shout for my mates!" She bravely snapped, standing face to face with the ugly rat like individual. "Oh yeah? And who are your 'mates?'" He questioned with a smirk, his eyebrows raised. "Ronnie and Reggie Kray." Came her hissed reply, a small smirk spreading across her lips.
