Hystory:-Joined Canada on July 1, 1873. (Prince Edward Island is kind of annoying to write over and over again, so I'm just going to say PEI. Pretty much all of the current research was speedily done and I'll have to rework it a lot later)
-PEI was separated from the rest of Acadia in 1713 and became the French colony Ile Royale, but wasn't actually settled until around 1720.
-During the Siege of Louisbourg (King George's War), England had sent the New Englanders to capture Ile Royale. They succeeded in their siege but, at the end of the war, Ile Royale was reluctantly returned to France as part of the peace negotiations. The New Englanders were angry at England for this because they had seen Ile as a threat to their fishing industries. One of the main reasons they attacked (Aside from the usual anti-French-war-stuff) was because of anger over Ile raiding Canso, Nova Scotia in 1744 and a following raid on Annapolis Royal. (Nova Scotia was under Massachusetts' care at the time, so this super pissed her off and the other New Englanders tend to follow her lead so all hell broke lose.)
-The Siege of Louisbourg was primarily instigated by Massachusetts' governor who managed to convence the colony to attack. New Hampshire and Connecticut were also in on the attack while financial/equpiment support came from Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey although they didn't actually go to fight. The New Englanders took great pride in their victory. (Sounds like Nova Scotia herself might have been in on it. Not sure yet.)
-When the Acadian expulsion began, Ile Royale's population went from less than 1,000 to about 5, 000 as the Acadians were forced out of Nova Scotia.
-Given to England after Treaty of Paris 1763. Became his own British colony in 1769.
-1798 his name became Prince Edward island
-Hosted the 1864 Charlottetown Conference which began negotiations for the Articles of Confederation, but he wound up backing out of joining Canada in the end. Calls himself the Birthplace of the Confederation.
-The other Maritime provinces and Newfoundland call him Eddy. (He'd rather be called Edward or something that sounds a little more distinguished, but tries not to worry about it.)
Personality: Hyper, gentle, snooty, loyal, Not very bright, cheerful, kind hearted, (according to some sources) VERY Scottish but not as Scottish as Nova (people you haven't even SEEN Nova's Scottish side yet.)
Looks: messy red hair, freckles, freckles, and more freckles (covered in freckles), bright Olive green eyes, a little short for his physical age. He has has an ear peirsing and he usually wears a light blue t-shirt, and tan vest (with many pockets) and jeans (will wear a kilt with no shame what so ever), he has normal tennis shoes.
