My first thought was, "That Ruby bitch stole my phone!"
My second thought was, " HOLY SHIT THIS BUSS IS SPIRALING OUT OF CONTROL!"
I was immediately thrown against the side window from the force of the bus. I couldn't move at all. The pressure of the spinning bus shattered the glass and drove shards into my cheek. "COVER YOUR HEAD" I shouted over the sound of screeching wheels. The boy across from me covered his head with his hands just as a price of melted roof fell onto him. He crumpled like a piece of paper. I shut my eyes tight and hid behind my pack pack as we skid down the highway. I saw a woman push her child under the seat and try to get out the window.
"DONT" I screamed but it was too late. The bus was going about 60 mph and so that was the end of her life. I pulled my shirt up to cover my mouth and listened to the sounds of people screaming until it was silent.
No screams, absolutely silent. Then I heard a creek. "Hello?" I willed to ask.
"Hey I'm overBOOOM" something exploded right then and there silencing the man I had heard. The light started fade and I blacked out.
Next thing I know some dude carried me outside and set me on the grass. Police weren't there yet. We were pretty far out through the country side. In various states of injury were a couple people around me. The baby was there, but he or she was fine. There was also two brothers and a lady. The older brother was leaning over the younger one trying to wake him up.
"Oh thank God you're ok, mom would have killed me if you died on my watch! Oh yeah definitely we have to get back to mom." They called 911.
The man who saved me came out of the twisted bus empty handed. I left disappointed but I could not figure out why. Then I remembered the boy. "Did you see the boy? He had a dark blue shirt and jeans. He was a little older than me! Has dark brown hair!
"HAD dark brown hair. I'm sorry but something fell on him. That boy didn't make it. The man replied.
I knew I had to go back. There was no way he was dead. That couldn't happen. He seemed so calm during the crash. Almost invincible. "I'm going back in after him." I declared
" I'm sorry I really am but I thought you were dead. I carried you out so your family could have a body to burry. There no way you're going back in." He stated.
"Maybe his family wants a body to burry. I just want to do what's right." I said as I stood up.
"DON'T QUESTION IF IM DOING THE RIGHT THING! Look you can barely stand up, I don't think you can turn into Superman, little girl. I'm the adult here. I'm just trying g to minimize the deaths." At that he stormed away to tend the brother who was injured. I thought he broke his leg.
I couldn't take it. What if the boy was alive and waiting for help. I crawled over to the bus, took a gulp of fresh air, and stepped into the smoke. It was like a different world of flames. Metal was twisted into hellish shapes. I made my way to the back and found my seat. I turned my head to his seat. The boy was there. His body was burned all over and his hair was singed. I grabbed his arms and dragged his body out of the wreckage.
Well, it was hard. I got to the front of the bus only to find the door had sealed shut. The smoke curled around us and chocked my lungs. My legs gave out and I slid onto the floor. I tried to cover his mouth with his shirt but it was worthless. I laid there with him on the bottom of the bus and cried. I was so stupid to go back in. I blacked out again and my head fell against the bus door.
OW! More broken glass pricked my face. Someone had punched though the bus door. Suddenly some one grabbed by shirt and dragged my out. I started to lose it. The light faded and my eyes closed. NO. I clasped the boys shirt and he was dragged out of the wreckage with me.
