I finished loading my last suitcase into the tourbus. "Jeez Joey how many suitcases do you need?" Our tour manager, Liam, chuckled. "I only have 2. A big one and a small one. I'm a girl, lay off!" I giggled. "Oh you're a girl? What are the suitcases filled with? Dresses and skirts?" Liam teased. "Shush you, if I wanna wear skinny jeans my whole life I can." I climed onto the bus and went into the back lounge where Charlie, Kai and Brad were. "Joeypoo!" Charlie jumped up from the sofa and tackled me in a hug. "Charlie!" I laughed. "You excited to finally be on tour again?" he asked. I nodded. "It's been so long." Charlie sat back on the sofa where Kai and Brad were engaged in what looked like an instense game of Halo. I sat down on Charlie's lap and he wrapped his hands around my waist. "Hey Jojo." Brad said, not taking his eyes away from the screen. "Oh hey Joey." Kai's eyes also never left the TV. "I'm beginning to think it was a bad idea getting an xbox in here." Liam said from the door. "What? No way! Xbox is life." I protested. "Yeah! Xbox!" Kai and Brad agreed. Liam just shook his head and went off to do some tour manager stuff, whatever that might be. "I've been listening to the band we're touring with, they're really good." Charlie said. "Really? Who are they?" I didn't really pay attention to who we were touring with, I wasn't good at paying attention. "Marianas Trench, do you not listen?" I shook my head. "I've heard of them, the lead singer is hot." Charlie laughed quietly. "We're going out for dinner with them so we can all get to know each other." I groaned. "Dinner? Really? Why can't we just get a McDonalds and hang out on one of the buses?" I didn't like going out to dinner because I wasn't ever allowed to wear skinny jeans. "We come all the way to Canada and you want a McDonalds? We're going out for dinner and you're wearing a dress." I stuck my tongue out at him. "I left all my dresses in England so fuck you." Charlie smirked, this was not a good sign. "No you didn't, I stopped by your apartment before we went to the airport and brought them in my suitcase." I groaned again. "I hate you." Charlie laughed. "Can you guys go be cute somewhere else please? We're trying to play here." Brad interupted. "Fine, moany arse. We'll go." Charlie and I stood up and made our way to the front lounge. We sat there for a while until it was time to get ready for dinner. Unfortunately, Charlie managed to convince me to wear a dress. I wore a black skater dress, my bright green converse and some black and white stripy fingerless gloves. I guessed this would make a good impression on the other band. When we got to the restaurant, Marianas Trench were already waiting outside. I recognized them from their music videos, but I didn't know any of their names. Brad was the first to speak up. "Marianas Trench?" he asked. They all nodded. "The Party Scene?" The guy with the mohawk who I was sure was the bassist asked. "Yeah that's us. I'm Brad, I'm the drummer." Brad introduced himself. "I'm Kai, I play bass." Kai said from next to Brad. Those two were always near each other. Chances are, wherever Brad was Kai wouldn't be far, and vice versa. "I'm Charlie, guitarist." Finally it was my turn to introduce myself. "I'm Joey, I sing... obviously." Marianas Trench introduced themselves as Ian who played drums, Mike who played bass, Matt who played guitar and Josh who sang. Josh was even more attractive in person. I'm pretty sure the whole band checked me out when I introduced myself but that was totally understandable, I checked them out too. We went inside the restaurant and took our seats at the table Liam reserved. "I listened to your music, I loved it. You have a great voice Joey." Josh said causing me to grin. "Wow really? Thanks, you too." Josh smiled back. "Why do you seem so shocked? You must get told that all the time." I shrugged, he had a point. "I don't actually know." We both laughed. "You guys have the coolest accents, I'm jealous." Mike said. "No way dude, your accents are great." Kai replied. "Ours are just normal." Brad agreed.
The night as a whole was great, and I knew touring with these guys for 5 months was going to be even better. After the meal I went outside so I could ring my friend Dolly. "Hello?" she obviously hadn't looked at the caller I.D. "Hey Doll it's Joey." I heard a squeal from the other end of the phone. "Jojo! Are you there? Have you met the other band yet?" Ah Dolly, always getting over-excited. "We just met the other band. They're all really nice." I could practically hear her grinning. "I'm so excited to come see you when you come to london!" Since we were on tour for 5 months, we got to get around the world a little, which meant we could do a few shows in the UK. I chatted with Dolly for a little longer until she said she had to go somewhere. "I'll skype you tomorrow, ok?" I said. "Sure thing, love you Jojo." she replied. "Love you too Doll." I hung up the phone and turned around to see the rest of the guys exiting the restaurant. "Who was on the phone?" Charlie asked. "Dolly, she wanted to know if we'd got here already." Charlie nodded and smiled. "When are you skyping her next?" "Tomorrow. You can talk to her if you want." Charlie just grinned. I knew he'd liked Dolly for a while now, he just wouldn't admit it to anyone. The guys all piled into the tourbuses and I was about to follow suit before someone grabbed my arm, holding me back. I spun around to see it was Josh. I smiled at him. "What are you doing tomorrow? We're not playing any shows." he said. "Nothing yet, why?" I replied. "Do you wanna hang out? It'd be great to get to know you a bit better." I grinned and nodded. "Sounds great, just stop by our bus at like 10." Josh agreed and we both went back to our buses. I was pretty tired when I got back so I decided to change into some pyjamas and go straight to bed.
