Burning Birthday

You move your charcoal fingers across my thigh
Burnt to a crisp, yet still as elegant
as ever
Party hats lay suctioned to the floor, you cry
Blood red tears of joy that you couldn't express

Out of the corner of my eye, I see immeasurable pulchritude
In front of me a miserable gathering of lost souls
An ear shattering yelp of joy from my side, a gesture so crude
We came to celebrate this special day, are you ready to party?

Flowered invitations stick to the table, not so lovely anymore
How could someone so full of life put an end to so many?
Your auburn eyes couldn't do much to end this war,
They watched everyone crackle and burn, and didn't bat an eyelash

You insist that my special day was meant to be sacred
The charred wreckage that lays in front of me,
I can't help but feel so indescribably
tainted
The greatest gift of all, you really shouldn't have

Banners flickering with a dying light
Your blood infested cheeks glimmer in the sunset
My lips have never been this tight
Let me leave this isolated cave of my own dreams

I watch the reflection of the candles in your eyes flicker,
is there a page of humanity in your book of lies?
Did you take advantage of this party,
to give me one hell of a surprise

I don't want your reckless insanity to be the dictator of my existence,
I want this to be a distant memory that I don't have to share with you,
toss me away, find a new pet to wash and rinse
I don't want anything to do with you, not even a second glance

Take your poisonous words, and keep them between your lips,
like a cigarette releasing them in the form of smoke,
let your burnt hand slide away from my hips,
and clean up that mess resting at your feet

Seeing you soon will always be what I seem to say,
I'm a real person, and this is just a fucked up dream
Your jacket is hanging by the door, you hear?
don't forget your invitation, I'll see you next year
