➰Jennifer's P.O.V.➰
I sat ok on my bed knees under my chin. It was 1:38 in the afternoon. I didn't find the decency in going down stairs. After last nights events, I didn't think anyone wanted to see me, not even Joseph. I didn't think things would ever be like this. I thank God for letting Joseph come in at the precise moment Harron was raping me. It sucks even describing it as rape. But sadly it was, and it wasn't the first time. I realized just last night he..had raped me for the third time. Why wouldn't I realize that sooner. I was disgusting. I was lower then Harron himself. I was overpowered and I felt nothing but pity for myself.
A gentle knock hit my door and opened. My aunt caused me to snap out of those evil thoughts.
"Honey...it's almost two in the afternoon you should come down and eat something or I'll have it brought up to you. Anything you'd like. Uh-french toast your favorite?"
My aunt sounded unenthusiastic. The more she tries to sound joyful, her pity for me went over her emotion.
"No thanks...I'm not hungry."
She sat on my bed. She was all dressed for work. My aunt was a real estate agent. But she selled houses worth millions of dollars.
"Honey you can grow weak especially with your emotional state. I know you don't feel well and for your sake I asked Harron to stay in a hotel. Melissa didn't want any officers showing up because then the entire town would gossip about it."
Your kidding me. My aunt didn't want to do anything only because the town would exchange a few words about the situation.
"And I know you feel like its your fault the oarty was ruined but it's really no-."
"You. Ruin. Everything. Again? My wedding was cancelled again. This was not once but twice you've caused my wedding to be cancelled. Do you want to ruin my life? Do you just think about yourself?"
There went Melissa causing me to feel less worthy of myself.
"Enough Melissa Renee! Go down stairs we have to take you to work."
Melissa's pouty face never left and she stomped out of the room. She stomped so heavy that it looked like she was going to cause the entire second floor to fall down to the first level.
My aunt kissed my head and told me we'd talk about this later.
After she closed the door I laid back down on my bed pulling the covers over me.
I heard another knock come from the door. Really?
I opened it to see the small spanish lady who has been this house' keeper for twenty three years.
"Eh señorita el telefono para usted."
The phone for me?
"Muchas gracias Adelaida." I took the phone off hold after closing my door, I sat down on my bed.
"Hello."
"Jennifer? Its your mother."
Great.
"What happened last night with Harron? Joseph texted me that Harron hurt you."
I couldn't tell mom. First she'd never believe me. Second, she would make me apologize to everyone for causing the wedding to be cancelled.
"Helllo, Jennifer, I'm waiting."
Why not just tell her she was my mother she had to believe me. Right?
"I'm going to give you five sec-."
"He raped me mom! And this is not the first time."
"Wh-what? Harron wouldn't do such a thing. Ever!"
I knew she wouldn't ever believe a word I've said. Just because the person does good in her eyes, the person wouldn't harm a fly.
"See mom! This is exactly why I didn't bother on telling you in the first place."
She let out a sigh. "I believe you Jennifer. I was being sarcastic. I knew since day one that boy was bad news."
Did she really believe me? Or was she just trying to act like she did?
"I will talk to your father and let him know. And see how we can deal with this situation. But I hope this isn't another of your jokes Jennifer."
I knew she would never believe me. She still had that doubt.
Another knock came from my door. Who could it possibly be this time?
I walked to the door and mom was explaining to me that this was a serious matter. I opened and discovered Joseph with messy hair, shirtless, and sweat pants. Did I forget to mention.. shirtless?
My eyes grew wide and I felt my cheeks flush with redness."Uh ok mom. Let me know."
I didn't even let her finish.
I stared at him. He looks as if he's been tossing and turning all night. He had bags under his eyes and his curls were in a complete mess. Even though he didn't try to make him self attracted, he caused butterflies to flutter in my stomach by how great he looked even now.
"You done examining me?" A small smirk played in his lips. Shoot he caught me.
"Staring?" I opened the door so he could come in. "I hardly even looked at you."
He walked and sat on my bed with his hands in his pockets.
He looked at the floor as if he was trying to concentrate so hard.
"I'm sorry this happened Jennifer. If I could've been there early." His eyes were watering and he put his hands on his eyes.
"Shh Joseph none of this is you fault. This has absolutely nothing to do with you." I sat next to him hugging his arms with both hands.
"I wish, I wish I can just kill for what he did to you. You didn't deserve that. Lo-look at your face and your arms. Your all bruised by that .. that."
He couldn't say more the tears that once threatened to be out spilled out. From both of us. He turned and hugged me. His face rested in my neck as my chin rested in his shoulder.
He let go and I took the chance to lay down because my body ached. He then laid right next to me.
"I won't ever let him do this to you again Jenny. I want to be completely here" He drew circles with his thumb on my cheek. "I swear if I see .. him-"
"Joseph?" I scooted just an inch away from him. "Could you just hold me...please?"
He smiled comprehending I didn't want to think about it anymore. "I just want to sleep." I admitted in between a yawn. He pulled me closer and caressed my arm gently. He kissed my forehead once I placed my head on his chest.
This is what I liked: feeling secure and comfty. Any moment like this Joseph is priceless.
