Chapter 4 SC
I heard the door click and it opened. We all ran through the doors to the truck. Patpat and Danielle ran to the front of the truck and everyone else piled into the back of the semis' trailer. We saw the zombies pile it to the room. Michael shut the trailer door fast as the truck started. Patpat must have hit the gas hard because we all jerked and fell in the back of the truck. We were all silent on the way back to the fort. It was too much for me to take in. I crawled to the corner away from everyone else and wrapped my arms around my legs and rested my head on my knees and fell asleep. I felt someone wrap me in their arms.
"Chris? Chris? Wake up." Shane whispered into my ear and gently shook me. I couldn't move and even if I could I wouldn't. Shane picked me up and carried me to my bed. I laid in bed thinking about my family and friends.
I woke to a knock on my door. I slowly got up and opened the door. I saw Madison holding a blanket around her shoulders. "Hey. I cant sleep. Can I sleep in here with you?" she asked. "Yeah I guess." I said walking, almost limping, to my bed. I flopped on my bed. She laid next to me. Before I knew it we were both asleep.
I woke up in the middle of the desert. I looked around confused. How did I get here? I saw someone sitting under a tree. That's odd. A tree in the middle of the desert. I ran to the person to ask if they knew where I was. I got close and tapped the person on the shoulder. It stood up and I never realized how big it was. It towered over me. The person... no wait it wasn't a person. It was a zombie! I ran and it chased after me. Before I could get a safe distance away from it the zombie grabbed me and was ready to eat me. It was putting me close to it's mouth and I screamed. I jerked awake. I must have actually screamed because Madison sat up quickly. I was breathing really hard and sweating. "What happened?!" Madison asked alarmed. "Oh nightmare." I said as I wiped the sweat from my forehead. I started to lay back down when I heard a blood curdling scream. I jumped out of bed and grabbed my gun. Madison and I ran down the hallway to Lexi's room. I busted through the door to see Lexi hiding under her blanket. I moved the blanket and asked Lexi," What's wrong?". She seemed terrified. "I...I felt something grab my h...hair." she said having trouble trying to get the words out. I put my gun down and sat on her bed. "Come stay in my room with me and Madison tonight. She slowly got up as I walked to my room. I was so tired I almost ran into my wall. We got in my room and we laid in the bed together. I closed my eyes yet again and drifted off to sleep.
The next morning I got up and walked to the cafeteria. I could smell bacon and pancakes. "Mmmmmm." I said as I walked in to the building. I walked over to the line and saw my aunt Stacy working behind the food. "Hey Stacy." I said as she put two slices of bacon on my plate. "Hey Chris. You better eat good today because the other group are coming today." she said. Yay! I get to see my family. "Cool beans." I said as I started to walk away. I grabbed a glass of orange juice and a pancake. I sat down next to my cousins Rebecca and Danielle. "Hey guys. Did you here the rest of the family is coming today?" I said after taking a swig of orange juice. "Really? No I didn't know but awesome!" Danielle said with a mouthful of bacon. I ate quickly and threw my trash away. God. I am so excited. I ran back to the house. Or the hotel whatever you want to call it. I ran up stairs and opened the first door. I yelled,"Get up! Family is coming today!". It must have been Justin's room because he sat up and he had no shirt on. I could tell I was going to blush. He had abs. Yes a six pack ab. I ran to the next door and then the next.
I grabbed my book from my side table and ran outside. I walked to the small park we have and sat down and read. I didn't realize how much time went by until Patpat walked by. "Hey want to go tan by the pool?" she asked me. Yeah we have a pool in a small building. It has a see through walls and roof so me and Patpat always tan. "Yeah sure let me go get my bathing suit." I ran to the hotel. I ran upstairs to see Blake and Lexi kissing in blake's room. I stopped in my tracks and hid behind the door. I could hear Blake say,"Don't tell Madison about this. She will kill me and you. But in the mean time let's return to what we were doing." Blake must have leaned in and kissed Lexi yet again. I could hear the deep breathing of Lexi. God. I couldn't listen to this anymore I ran to my room and got my bathing suit on quietly.
"I'm serious patpat. I saw them kissing." I said after telling patpat the story of Blake and Lexi. "Well should we tell Madison?" patpat asked while putting tanning oil on her body. "I don't know. I asked you." I said laying on my towel. She laid on her towel and looked at me. I could tell she didn't like the sound of it at all. "Well let's keep it quiet for a awhile." she said. I didn't like the sound of it but she was right. We couldn't tell if we needed to tell Madison that her boyfriend was cheating on her. God. I was so confused. I have never had to deal with this stuff before. We were quiet for the rest of the time we were tanning. As soon as we were done tanning we walked to the rooms in our bathing suit and our shorts. While we were walking back we saw Justin, Anthony, Chance, and Michael walking by. "Looking good ladies." Chance said as we walked by. I flipped him off. "Immature bastards." patpat said. We both laughed.
"Hey everyone! The other group is here." I heard Danielle scream through the hall ways.
