"Babe where'd you put my cologne?" I said throwing on my red Last Kings shirt. "I don't know, I think it's in our room" she said wiggling into some black leggings from Pink. Naiya had on a red northface resolve jacket and a black headband. "Donny is finally 18" I said being excited because it's my brother's birthday. "I know... it's about to be lit" Naiya said practicing her moves.
We get in my Jeep and drive off. We speed off and arrive no later than ten minutes after leaving house. "Is that little Chris, Donny?" Yelled his mom who was dumping ice into the cooler. Donny looked up from a game of dominoes and flashed a big smile. "CJ!" He yelled throwing up his arms. "Whats good?" I say pulling down my Gold Ray-Ban Circular Sunglasses and flashing my Gold grill. "Okay I see you" laughs Donny punching me in the arm. "Is that a tattoo?" He asks looking at my forearm. "Yeah" I shrug. "What's it say? Go-God First? God first aye... that's hella dope" Donny said nodding his head.
"Aye I got you something" I say pulling out a jewelry box with a grill in it. "Yo this for me?" Asks Donny who is in utter shock. "Nah it's for Keshon" I say being sarcastic. Keshon was Donny's little brother who was now a Junior in High School. "Shit, I'll take it" He laughs. "Thanks brother" He said pulling me into a hug. "I'm still your favorite right?" Asked Keshon. "Nigga you got me a card" Donny says."Aye a nigga on a budget, not everybody work at Champs like Chris over here" Keshon explained while walking over to see if some food was ready. "Happy birthday baby" whispered Kylah who kissed him. "Okay" I said leaning back rubbing Naiya's leg. "I see y'all back together" Naiya said. "Aha y'all too, I heard about ya little intermission" Kylah clapped back.
"If y'all don't stop gossiping and come eat this food I done made" yelled Donny's mom. We all got platesful of potato salad, baked macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, collard greens, candied yams and a roll. "Damn momma ain't Thanksgiving next week?" Donny laughed hugging her. "Boy you better stop cussing just because you grown, now come with me I got a surprise for you" Donny's mom guides us outside. Donny's friend Marcell opens a Range Rover car door that had a huge red ribbon. The car had spinning rims, a shiny gold body, semi dark tints and a silver bike rack.
"Yo, who wants to go on a joyride?" Donny asks. "Isnt Choppy still looking for you?" Asked Keshon. "I don't give two fucks about Choppy" Donny laughed. Choppy's real name was Chapell Ortiz but Chapell was too feminine so everyone called him Choppy. Choppy was only 5'0 so he would get his cousin to fight or kill anyone who gave him bullshit or missed the quota. Donny was 50 dollars short on the last payment but didn't care.
We get in the car and Donny drives off. He turns on the aux and plugs up his phone. He turns up 'Tha Crossroads' by Bone Thugs N Harmony. And then my heart sunk, I felt something bad was going to happen. Just then Donny pulls into a forest. "I hope you don't think we're going camping in November" snapped Kylah. "Nah, I need to take a piss" He hops out the car and we akwardly wait inside. "Whats up Donny?" Whispers Choppy. "Whoa nigga" Donny gets scared and swings so Choppy shoots Donny in the stomach. "DONNY!" Kylah shrieks before getting out the car. "KYLAH GET IN THE CAR!" I yell before pulling a gun out of my boxers. "BABY!" Naiya yells. "Yo, uh ou killed my brother?!" I hiss choking him and pressing the gun to his temple. "You know what? You ain't even worth it" I chuckle, sucking my teeth. "SHUT THE FUCK UP PRETTY BOY!" Choppy spat I turn around and shoot Choppy in the foot. I picked up Donny's dying body and smashed on the gas.
"Get him to a room now!" I screamed. The staff ushered Donny to a room. "Fuck" I whisper placing my hands on top of my head. Kylah goes and sits in a chair. Naiya follows her. "Where's my baby?!" Cries Ms. Goreman. "Damn" I say wiping my eyes. "Let's leave Ms. Goreman alone" says Naiya rubbing my shoulder. "Okay" I whisper.
We drive home and go straight to our room. I get undressed and put on an old swearshirt from when I was thirteen and some adidas joggers. Naiya brings me a bowl of cereal and sits on my shins. "We gon' be okay" she whispers wiping her eyes. "I know" I give a slight smile.
