My back was still turned to the door when he left through it, closing it again behind him before I heard his footsteps on the stairs. I sighed and sat down in the chair at my desk, resting my head in my hands and trying to work things out in my mind. I took out a notepad and started making a list of the things I was sure of.

1. I am called Hoody.
2. I am human. (Mostly.)
3. I feel emotions. (Sometimes.)
4. I feel something towards my partner in crime.
5. It's getting worse.

The list ended there on the page in front of me, the number 6 sitting at the end without another item. I sighed again and opened my laptop. There was some footage I could be editing right now, right?

~~~
Well, that was a successful waste of time.
I had to revert the video three times to the original footage. I just couldn't focus over the sound of my stomach doing its very best impression of a crashed helicopter.
What was that? I should go eat something? Wow, that's an idea!
On my way downstairs, I successfully avoided joining one of Sally's famous "tea parties", and got into the kitchen to grab something to eat. Snatching an apple from the basket of fruit, I tested to see how rotten it was before heading back up to my room. On my way past the TV room, however, I was spotted by Jeff and BEN.
"Oh, hey, Hoody!" Jeff yelled over the sound of gunfire and zombie groans from the TV. He elbowed BEN in the side to get his attention, a cocky smirk on his face, then turned back to face me. "I was wondering. You and Masky, how many condoms do you go through in a week?"
I was so glad I had a mask. My face felt like it were on fire and I turned and walked away as quickly as I could, hearing the all-too-obvious sounds of laughter behind me.
I closed the door to my room and leaned against it. This feeling, in my chest, it was worse.
