I gasped in shock, dropping the stick. I kneeled in front of Hoodie. I knew somewhere in my head that it was just a trick, it wasn't real, it couldn't be. I had just killed my last friend.

I held his head of the ground, but his body was growing cold. Blood seeped out both sides of his body, staining his hoodie and pooling on the ground. I let out a sob, leaning over him. "I-I'm s-sorry..." I murmured between sobs, cradling his head. "S-so... terribly... s-sorry..." I sat there for a while, then realised that the body had dissapeared. Just... Gone.

I stood up, trembling, and glanced around. It was just a hallucination, brought on by the drugs I had taken previously to make my training harder. But... Why? Why was Hoodie in it? I wasn't scared of him, and I didn't regret anything related to him, except maybe that one time I burnt his cookies. That's nothing to do with this, though.

I frowned under the mask, and shrugged. I picked up the pill bottle on the ground and stuffed it into a pocket, tidying up. I walked inside, trying to act casual, and there was everyone at the table for breakfast. Jeff was the first to notice me come in.

"Hey, where were you? Training again?" He asked, a smirk in his tone.

"None of your business," I muttered, even though he was right. I took a spot near the end of the table, next to Eyeless Jack, who was busy eating a bacon-kidney sandwich. I shook my head and sighed. I would never understand his eating habits, ever.

Jane leaned against the table, sitting right across from me. She whispered something to Clockwork, and the slightly tanned girl snickered. I didn't know what Jane had said, but it was probably about me. As usual.

After breakfast, I decided I'd go upstairs to find Hoodie. He wasn't at breakfast, again, and I was worried. Did he ever eat?

I opened the door to our room, and he was standing at the window, looking out.

"Masky," His relatively monotone voice spoke, "I need to talk to you."
