I woke up the next morning to no weight around me. I looked and Lina wasn't there. I got out of bed and quickly dressed for the day. I left my room and quickly looked around the house.

"Lina!" I called. "Linaaaa!" I looked in the kitchen, living room, dinning room, bathroom, and the hallways. Nothing. There was one room I haven't checked. It was Lina's bedroom. I quickly ran to her room and opened the door.

She wasn't there.

I began to panic. Where could she have gone? She wasn't allowed to leave the house without me and if she did she would be sent back to her homeland! I grabbed my phone from the kitchen counter and put my shoes on. I stuffed my phone in my pants pocket and ran out the door, quickly closing it on the way out.

"Lina!" I called, running down the street. "Lina!!" I called again. I took a left and kept running. As I ran past people I kept saying things like 'excuse me' and 'move please!'

After running through a maze of people I found myself in the shopping center in the middle of town. I quickly turned my head, trying to find any sign of the purple tailed lamia. "C'mon, c'mon where are you Lina!" I panicked and looked around again.

I ran down the shopping area and looked through every store window that I passed. Nothing. Not a single sign of her. As I kept running, I skidded to a halt, remembering something.

I haven't checked the park!

I quickly the way I was going before, but took a right and entered the park. There was barley anyone so hopefully it would be easier to find Lina. I stopped, hearing rustling from nearby bushes. I looked and found Lina, leaves in her hair, slightly bruised on her arms.

I went through the bushes and kneeled in front of her. "Lina? Are you ok?" I asked her, concern etched in my voice. She looked at me, and began to cry. My eyes widened and I hugged her, careful not to harm any of her bruises. "I promise Lina, who ever did this is going to get their ass kicked." I said, pulling out my phone.

I called the only person who I knew would answer. Ms. Fallon. She picked up right away. "Hello?" She said through the receiver on the phone. "Ms. Fallon, Lina was hurt by someone." I said with a deadly serious tone in my voice. There was silence for a moment.

"I'll have my team investigate immediately." I growled. "Make it quick. I wanna make sure the bastard who did this gets what he deserves." And with that I hanged up.

Lina hugged me tighter. I rocked her slightly, trying my best to calm her down along with saying things like 'it's ok' and 'everything is gonna be fine'.

After a while she calmed down. I smiled and she rested her forehead on my shoulder. I hummed a song my mom used to sing to calm me down. I kissed the top of her head. She looked at me and smiled.

"Sweetheart?" I hummed in response. "Can we go home?" I nodded. Picking her up bridal style I carried her back to the house and set her on the couch. "Y-you didn't have to carry me.." I smiled. "Of corse I did. After getting beaten up, I sure as hell wasn't gonna let you walk."

She blushed and smiled at me, pulling me into a hug, which ended with is laying on the couch, Lina's tail wrapped around me, and we fell asleep.
