One day a young girl moved to the village, a travelling merchant's daughter. She settled into an inn and when her father left, she stayed. Every week or so, her father would visit her and conduct business in the village. Later, he would leave, they fell into a routine. Dario's eyes seemed to always be on the young girl; he was worried about her. She was a girl and left alone for most of the time. Every now and then, he would see the young girl walking with a young man. Then again, it would always be a different one and they were always artists. Dario became very curious and he got a chance one day when an argument broke out in the market. It was the young girl , tears streaming down her face and she was being scolded by one of the merchants. Dario ran over and put his arm protectively around her, "What's going on here?" his voice boomed and the market went quiet. The merchant scowled, "I don't sell to tramps" she said freshly. Dario gasped and his arm fell from around the young girl's shoulders. He looked down at her, confused. Her eyes widened, filled with tears and she ran blindly away.

Shocked, Dario walked. He was struck numb and when he came to, he saw that he was following her. I guess if I'm here, I might as well... he thought as he made his way around the inn. Looking up, he could make out her figure from one of the windows. Dario picked up a handful of pebbles and started throwing some at her windowsill. He chuckled to himself just like those lovesick boys he thought. She didn't bother to look out the window and as if she'd done it numbers of times before she let down a line of bed sheets tied together. "she probably has done it numbers of times before.." Dario mutters as he thinks back to what the merchant said back at the market. He tugs at it and starts to climb. When he enters the room, her back is to him; he pulls up the line and closes the window. At the sound she turns around and gasps. Dario stands there, not having thought this through that much, he sits down on her bed and sighs.
