The smog-clouded streets of the filthy slums of midgar were illuminated by the tall flickering street lamps, revealing the filth that sat beneath them and littered the entire sector. Patches of grass spread along the dirt floor, leading to mountainous amounts of scrap metals and thrown away trash; next to that, a gaping hole.
the hole in the sector 11's wall stood out prominently. Light seeped through gently, the floor around it covered with footprints of the many times people have walked through it.
The night was young; there were places to be and places to see. No time to waste-- a plan agreed on by two men sneaking into the sector through the hole. One was tall, built and had piercing blue eyes. he pushed his bangs to the side (becoming frustrated when they just flopped back) and gave a stretch. "Come on, it's not that scary!"
"i never said it was..." the other male paused, "uh.. scary..". he walked through the opening and adjusted his scarf. "i havent really been anywhere outside of Shinra for a while is all.."
"not even to visit your folks?"
"nope.." he shook his head, green eyes fell to the floor in shame. suddenly he felt his spiky, blonde hair getting ruffled with. he jolted, quickly grabbing his companion's arm. "h-hey what was that for?"
the taller man laughed, "for being a wimp, cloud."
    "a wimp?!"
"yeah, a wimp! i dunno what's got you straying from nibleheim, but your family must be worried sick." He put his hands to the back of his own head and turned away from him. "why did you decide not to visit?"
"it's... personal.." cloud muttered,   fixing his hair. "maybe i'll tell you another time, zack. more importantly, why did you ask me out again?"
zack sighed and put his hands to his hips. "isnt it obvious? we're on a date."
    cloud froze, "a..."
"uhhh daaaayyyyte," zack dragged on. "a date."
     "us?"
     "us."
"as in just us? alone? together?"
     "well, yeah?"
cloud felt his face grow warm. his heart started pounding in his chest. he tried to make himself just disappear behind his scarf, but zack only smiled. gorgeous as always, cloud thought to himself.
zack and cloud began their walk to the more busier part of sector 11, zack trying to stay as close to cloud as possible with an embarrassed cloud shuffling away slightly. there was silence.
     "so! cloud.."
     "mm..?"
"ever been on a date before?"
cloud grew even more embarrassed, "well... no.."
zack laughed and pat cloud's back. "well, ill show you the ropes then."
cloud shook his head and placed a hand on his own cheek, trying to hide his blush.
zack winked and simply slid an arm around his boyfriend's waist.
zack let out a soft laugh, "wanna go down to the honeybee inn? i heard they have some pretty cool rooms for two in there, catch my drift?"
     cloud looked up at zack.
     zack only smiled
