Beca's P.O.V

"So, the first thing that you need to know about moving on is that it will not be easy at first. It may feel a little weird leaving your ex for good but in the end, you'll thank me." Emily said.

She then winked at me.

"First step is to be angry. You have every right to be mad or sad because he left you. He dumped you. No one dumps Beca Mitchell." She said with a straight face.

The last part made me chuckle.

"Throw a couple of things around and scream at the sky, asking why God let this happen to you. It's better to let it all out than to keep it bottled up for months." She suggested.

"That's actually a pretty good idea, Em." I said.

"I know." She said sassily.

We both laughed at her reply.

"Ok, the second step is going to be very hard for you."

"Oh god. Hit me with it." I said sighing.

"You will have to ignore him no matter how hard it is." She said.

"I knew you would say something like that." I said while rubbing my forehead.

"You have to at least try, Bec." She said.

"I don't know." I said.

"Please! Do it for me! Do it for the Bella's!" She exclaimed.

She knew that wasn't going to work so she started doing something that always got to me.

Her puppy eyes.

"Aw, no. Not the puppy eyes! You know I can't say no to those!" I cried.

"That's exactly why I did them." She said with an evil smirk.

I hesitated for a moment.

Emily was giving me great advice and trying to help me move on and I'm here pushing her away and declining her help. She actually had to cancel her date just so she can help me. I have to do the same to her. I have to actually listen to her and let her help me. After all, this is my chance of letting him go.

"Fine! I'll listen." I said grumpily.

"Yay! I knew you would somehow give in again!" She said.

"So, what's the next step?" I asked her.

"You have to let time do its job. Time is the key to healing."

"Alright, that seems pretty easy." I said.

"Step four is to be patient. I know that will also be easy for you because you're pretty patient. Now, it may take 6 more weeks or 6 years to get rid of the love you had for him." She said.

I cringed at what she said. Seems too slow.

"Now the last step is the most important one." She said.

"I'm ready for it." I said giving her all my attention.

"Go out. Don't stay at home all alone. Staying home alone can cause you to think of him because you feel lonely and you wish he was there with you." She said.

"Wow, Em. That was some really good advice." I said.

"Thanks." She said with a grin.

"I really appreciate you coming over and doing all of this." I said while hugging her.

"No problem. You know I'll always be here for you." She said while hugging me and rubbing my back in circles.

We let go and she then left.

"Damn, I feel a little bit better. Is Jesse trying to move on from me as well?" I thought to myself.
