I woke up to my alarm clock going off. I just rolled over in my bed and sighed. As much as I hate this stupid private school, I have to go. If I even had the thought of acting out like my brother, my parents will be even more upset than if I just told them I the honest-to-God truth. I just drug myself out of bed and into the bathroom across the hall that my brother, my cousin and I shared. His school didn't start until nine. He's smart, he just hates private school. He goes to a school for smart people but it doesn't have sports so he plays football for another school.
I ran back to my room to grab my speaker and my phone then ran back to the bathroom. I turned on my bluetooth so my music could play through the speaker. There are lots of songs in my play list but I decided on 7 Years by Lukas Graham. The music started to play and I began to freshen up. My parents aren't big fans of hip hop music. They call it 'ghetto central'. Artist like Beyoncé, J. Cole, Lil Uzi Vert, I can't listen to. But I do it anyway. Typical preacher's daughter, I guess.
"Nadi, hurry up. I need to get in there." my cousin, Sidney, knocked. She also attended this dumb private school. She lives here with me. She was the only child in a motherless home. Her mom left her and her dad, but her dad passed in a car accident.
I finished combing through my hair and put it in a ponytail with this stupid, ugly bow they gave us. I cleaned up behind myself and left out the restroom. I went into Sidney's room and told her the bathroom was open.
Walking back into my room, I heard my phone buzzing. It was an unknown number because I don't have many friends.
"Hello" I curiously asked.
"Hey Nadia. It's Grace. I was wondering if you had the homework for Mr.Dowell." she asked. She was the only cool person at this school, but we don't talk much. She's on the elite dance team with Sidney, so that's probably how she got my number, from Sid.
"I forgot all about that! I'll try to hurry and do it, if I finish I'll give it to you." I rambled.
She chuckled at me. "Calm down and okay."
She hung up and I ran to my closet to put on this ugly school uniform that I have like 50 of. Once I finished getting dressed, I quickly got my backpack and grabbed the chemistry homework that Mr.Dowell assigned. I sighed considering I only had about fifteen minutes to complete 45 questions. I quickly scanned over trying to find questions I automatically knew, but I couldn't think properly. I groaned and threw my pencil on the ground. Picking up my paper, I ran into my brothers room and shook him.
"Aidan, get up!" I groaned as he rolled around.
"What man?" he groaned still sleeping.
"Can you do my homework for me? Pretty please with whipped cream and cherries?" I begged.
"When is it due?" he asked.
"Today." I nervously responded.
"What the hell, Nadia?" he said in an upset manner.
"I'll pay you back. Please, Aidan." I whined.
"Get out of my room and finish getting dressed." he said getting out of bed. His room is a complete mess and it smells like a locker room. I don't know how, he's barely ever home. I just hugged him and ran out.
"Ten minutes girls." my dad yelled up the stairs to Sid and I. I went to my room and gathered all of my school stuff and went back to Aidan. He was in there talking to his girlfriend, Genesis, on facetime. I groaned at his inconsiderate ways. Then again, I can't complain, I'm the one who didn't do their homework.
"Aidan, I only have ten minutes and we're leaving. Please hurry." I whined.
"Is that your sister?" Genesis' annoying voice asked receiving a nod from Aidan. "Hey girl." she dragged annoyingly.
"Hello." I mumbled and Aidan shook his head at me and chuckled at bit, continuing on with my homework.
