God, I hate this school. I sat at my desk in the back of the room with my head down. I gave Grace the homework she asked for when I saw her in the hallway this morning. I don't know how to pay Aidan back for that.
"Miss Lindsey, I need you to pick your head up and pay attention." my teacher said sternly causing the whole class to turn and look at me. I looked up at her and rolled my eyes, putting my head in my hand.
She turned back around continuing her lesson. I began tapping my pencil against the desk. She was becoming annoying. We've been going over the same geometry lesson for at least two weeks now. "Nadia, can you step outside please?" she asked not even turning around to look at me.
I got up and walked outside of the classroom without saying a word. All the spoiled, snotty kids stared as I walked out the door. A few minutes later, she walked out in the hallway with me. "I'm tired of you not paying attention in my class. I need you to go get your things and go to the office. Ms.Nguyen should be waiting for you there." she told me. I walked in grabbed my things and did as she said.
When I got there Ms.Nguyen was sitting at her desk signing off on some papers. I knocked lowly and she looked up gesturing for me to come in.
"What's up with you Nadia?" she asked. Ms.Nguyen is a nice, petite, Vietnamese lady. She had black hair and slightly pale skin. Her eyes weren't as chinky as some others.
"I hate this school and you know it. I'm a sophomore and I'm still in a freaking private school." I complained. She wrote something down and signed it.
"Give this to your parents when you get home." she said handing it to me and I put it in my bag without reading it, just hoping it says to take me out. "Its only the beginning of the day, Nadia. Just make the best of it." I sighed.
"Can you maybe call them to come get me?" I whined. She turned the phone towards me and let me call. I quickly dialed my brothers number because his school hasn't started yet and he already has his license.
"What Nadia?" he groaned.
"Could you pretty please come get me?" I asked.
"You been asking for too much this morning, Nadi." he groaned. "I'm on my way."
"Thank you." I squealed and hung up. "Can I stay in here until my brother gets here?" I texted Sid that I was leaving and she didn't respond. She likes this school because she's on the dance team. She's more hip hop than ballerina, but Daddy doesn't know.
She nodded and turned to her computer. I just went to the couch in the corner so that I could lay down. I just stared into space and soon began to drift off until Aidan walked into the room.
"Hi, Ms.Nguyen." Aidan greeted walking to me. "Come on." he said grabbing my bag.
"Bye." I said walking out. "Let's just tell mom and dad I got sick."
"You going to have to tell them at some point, Nadia." I sighed.
"Not yet, Aidan. Not yet." I mumbled.
I couldn't hurt my parents like that. At least not yet. He started the car and began to pull away from Princeton.
"You hungry?"
I nodded and he drove to the nearest Chick-Fil-A. I ordered a chicken biscuit, my favorite breakfast from everywhere, and a lemonade. He got the same and paid for our food. We went and sat down while we waited for our order.
"You got a boyfriend" he randomly asked. I furrowed my eyebrows at him.
"I don't even have friends, Aidan. Come on, now" I said. He laughed at me a little.
"You should tell Pops you don't want to be at that school. He'll take it better than Mom will. She cried when they said I couldn't stay" he chuckled. I laughed and they called Aidan's name so we could grab our food and go. Once we got in the car, we drove towards our home.
"I'll text Mom and let her know. Love you, Nadi" my brother said pulling me into a side hug.
"Thanks, and I love you too" I hugged him back. He grabbed his things out the bag and let me take it. I got out and used my house key to get inside. Daddy left to go to his meeting with other preacher's for some thing they're working on. Mom leaves before we do anyway. I closed the door and locked it behind me, running up the steps to my room. Man, this is going to be a long day.
