Internal Flood

As the tears pooled into her mouth,
Past her plump full lips,
In between her perfect white teeth.

She continued to swim farther down.

Where nobody could hear her screams.
Where nobody could hear her cries.
Where she was all alone.

The water pushing away from her face.
The bubbles curdling away from the corners of her mouth.

She remembers it all,
The asking
The rejection
The shame
The water
She let the water fill her lounges .
