Today is the day Matt is getting back home!! He was away for two weeks because Colorado Avalanche was playing against Toronto Maple Leafs and then Vancouver Canucks. You and Matt were dating for three years and you knew he is the one. You have talked about getting married someday and have kids. The thing is you didn't know when this someday was coming. You were getting ready to go to the airport to pick him up when the phone rang!

Matt: - Hi babe it's me!
K: - Hi sweetie! I missed you so much! Is something wrong? I was getting ready to head to the airport.
M: - That's why I'm calling you. Don't bother to come! Our flight got cancelled and we have to stay in Vancouver for the night.
K: - Sorry to hear that and I was getting excited to see you after two weeks. It felt like a month. Then I will see you tomorrow?
M: - If nothing goes wrong, then yes we will see each other tomorrow morning! I miss you! I have to go, coach wants us for something! I love you!

I guess I'll put my pjs on! You say to yourself! After lunch you decided to watch some of your tv shows. Which show is on? Yay The Flash is on! Well the previous episode but whatever! Some cookie dough ice cream wouldn't be bad right now! You get up from the sofa and head to the kitchen. I forgot I had left my phone here. You thought and see you have some unread texts.

You wear denim jeans and a T-shirt with the Colorado Avalanche logo on it since it's little warm outside. You put your biker boots and your leather jacket on because you know in the arena is cold. You also take your skates just in case you want to skate! Skating always clears your mind.
20 minutes later
While you were driving the radio was on. Some of the songs reminded you of Matt, some of them cheered you up like "My Silver Lining" by First Aid Kit. You were singing along all the way to the arena.
When you arrived you headed directly to the lockers room. Right there, it was Gabriel. Hello Katy! He greeted you smiling. Hello to you too Gabe! What are you doing here? I thought you were coming tomorrow! you asked confused. Be patient and you'll see! He says and hands you a red rose! This is from Matt! Have you brought your skates? You nod.Then put them on and follow me! After 5 minutes you do as you are told and follow Gabe to the ice. There you see an another familiar face, Nathan. Hello Nate! You say. Hi Katy! He greets you happily. He also hands you a red rose. That rose is also from Matt. He says. You guys, what's going on? You asked. Curiosity killed the cat! Just wait! Get on the ice and your questions will be answered! Gabe says as he pushes you lightly. You started skating and see the rest of the team and at the end of the line, it is him! The one you always loved and always will! Katy I'm sure you are wondering what is happening,right? Matt says to you. You know me so well! You say to him giggling. I was planning to do this before the two weeks trip but I couldn't find the right time. I guess this is the best time, what do you think? He asks you. What are you talking about? You ask back. Matt gets down on one knee and starts his "speech". Katy, that day when we first met , if someone had said to me that today I was going to propose to you I would answer him that he was making a big mistake. But here we are, me on one knee and you in front of me trying to process what is happening! When I'm dealing with something, you are there to help me. When we lose a game, you are there to cheer me up. You are always there when I need you. I want to be there when you need me. I want you to be the first thing I see when I wake up and the last thing when I go to sleep. That smile of yours always makes me feel better. So Katy, will you do me the happiest man in the world and become Mrs. Matt Duchene? He finishes his speech and opens the small box with the engagement ring.
Oh my god yes! A thousand times yes!!! You answer as you hugged him tight. He put the ring on your ring finger and you kissed him passionately. The entire team congratulated the happy couple!
