Amelia and Owen oneshots

The proposal

He'd been wanting to pop the question for a really long time now but he'd never found the perfect moment. There probably never was a perfect moment because they were always busy. Either one of them had to perform a life-saving surgery or they would be with their friends. Today he was making sure that both their schedules would be cleared and stay that way, no one could get in the way of that.

'What were the lab results of Ms. Dawson?' He asked to Meredith.

'Uh, you just asked that didn't you?' She stated.

'Oh, wow, yes now I remember. I'm sorry I am not very attentive today, it is bad.'

'What's up Owen? I've known you for a long time and I can guess that there's something wrong.'

'Alright.. Come with me for a second.'

He took her by the arm and dragged her to the other side of the corridor.

'No one can know about this.'

'Okay now I'm getting worried, what did you do?' Meredith stated, looking scared.

'You can better ask what I have not done yet... Anyways I'll just tell you, but promise that you will not tell it to the others alright?'

'Yes?? Just tell me please.'

'Well, tonight I am going to ask Amelia to marry me.' He said with a loving look on his face.

'NO WAY!' She shouted a little too loud.

'Yes but please shhht.'

'That's why you are so nervous I guess?'

'Yes, that is the reason.'

'Oh I wish that I could see that.. Well tonight everyone is coming to my house for a dinner, that's why you can't come?'

'Yes, Amelia thinks that she'll just go to your house but she will not.'

'Awe you guys, I cannot wait.'

A few hours later...

'Hey Amelia, is your shift over too? The rest of us is already there.' Maggie asked.

'Yes, I'm riding with Owen and then we will meet you at Mer's place.' She said happily.

'Great!'

Owen met up with her at his car.

'Hey babe.' He kissed her on the cheek.

'Finally it's evening.' She said and smiled as she got in the car.

'Yes, finally...' I'm so glad that I got an hour off earlier today to put everything up, otherwise I would have been even more stressed out than I already am.

'So how was your day?' He asked, to make some time go by.

'Oh great actually, I did two surgeries and they both went very well...' She continued her story but Owen was way too nervous to listen carefully, he now and then nodded and said 'Uhu.' But that's the only thing that he could get out right now.

They were driving to his trailer and parking the car. Amelia and Owen were faced with their backs to the things Owen had prepared.

'Alright, babe. You can come with me.' Amelia was expecting nothing so she was very calm.

He took her hand and closed her door of the car.

Hand in hand they walked to the front of Owen's trailer. As they turned around the corner she saw everything. The path in front of his trailer was all covered with roses and candles. She noticed every single detail and was in awe. They did not see it but all the people that were at Merediths party were looking through the window to what was happening.

Owen turned around to face her and took her hands.

'My dear Amelia. I love you. I've loved you truly, madly and deeply from the moment that I saw you. I just did not notice it in the beginning. We have both been through bad times, together and apart. We have been through great and loving times, such as performing our very first successful surgery together. We have had our sneaky time where we sneaked around the hospital being two teenage dorks that were in love.' She giggled at the memories that he just made her think about.

'And today, I know that there is no one that I could love more than you. I admire you in all your aspects, the dreams you pursue , how you believe in the superhero pose, how you have overcome everything you have been through.. Darling, you are such an inspiration to me. I want to continue loving you until the end of time.'

Amelia's makeup was running down her face and then he finally asked it.

'Amelia Shepherd, will you marry me?' He asked it with a crack in his voice, as he knelt down, trying to contain his tears. He took the beautiful diamond ring out of his pocket and opened the little box.

'Yes, yes I do.' She said through her tears, hugging him tightly.

They parted and he put the ring on her ring finger. She nodded and said: 'I love you so much.'

He smiled widely and kissed her passionately, this kiss was very meaningful and showed his true love for her. He picked her up and spun her around.

'I am so happy to be spending the rest of my life with you.'

'Me too.'

They stood there in front of his trailer in a tight hug for a couple of minutes when Owen noticed something.

'Oh my..'

'What?' Amelia smiled at him.

'Take a look at Merediths house for a second.'

Then they noticed everyone at the window staring at them. Amelia laughed about it.

'Damn it, I just wanted to make this private..'

'Hey, there are other things that we can be doing just with the two of us later.' She winked at him.

'You're right, let's just go inside to them.' Owen said.

He took her hand and held it tightly as they walked to the door. Meredith immediately opened it and opened her arms for a hug. Amelia went first.

'Congratulations darling, I love you so much.'

'Thank you.' She also hugged Owen and then they went into the living room where everyone was sitting.

'You were so cute!' April screamed out and hugged them both.

'Congrats, you are a very beautiful couple!' Richard said.

'Thank you.' Owen gave him a tight handshake.

'Maggie!'

'Amelia!' She had a tear rolling down her face again.

'I am so happy for you.'

'Thank you.'

'Auntie Amy?' Amelia heard a soft voice say.

'Zozo!'

'Auntie Amy, you and uncle Owen were sooooo cute! What did he ask you? I don't get it.' There was a soft laugh that spread through the room.

'Well, Zozo, uncle Owen asked me if I could be his wife. So we are going to get married!' She teared up again when saying this.

'Oh, I get it, mommy and daddy were also married!'

'Yes that is true.' I smiled.

'I love your ring, it is so sparkly.' Zola said, amazed by the rock on my finger.

'Thank you Zozo!! You wanna try it on?'

Her eyes got wider as I carefully handed her the ring. Obviously the ring was too big for her little finger but she put it on and stared at it. 'Wow, uncle Owen, this ring is so beautiful!' She said, giving it back to me.

'You would be so great with kids...' Arizona thought out loud.
