It all started in one place.
The place where she first saw him.
She stared at him with a luggage next to his side. She admired the brown haired kid with hazel eyes. Not many kids in her neighborhood had hazel eyes, but black.
She wasn't a shy girl. In fact, she was very outgoing and open minded. She was excited to see a new kid in the neighborhood. For her, it meant a new kid to play with. A new friend.
Likewise to the girl, he stared too. He noticed the colorful bracelets stacked on her wrist. He made eye contact with the girl but made no facial expressions. He was upset. Upset to be moving to a new place. To a new country.
For him, Australia was his home. It was only the death of his father which brought him and his mother upon this place. He glanced at the structures in front of him and took a glimpse at his surroundings.
"Come on Luca, let's go inside." the middle aged woman gestured, dragging the luggages inside the unit. "So his name is Luca." she thought to herself as she watched the mother and son enter the house.
"I know it's not as big as our house in Australia, but it's okay. It's perfect for the two of us." he stared at his mom, trying to make the most out of their situation. He remained silent and watched his mom drag the suitcases into their house.
He complained in his head as he looked around in his situation. He could feel his eyes start to water. He clenched his fists as he endured the moment. He missed his home, he missed his friends, and especially, missed his dad.
"My life will never be the same." he thought to himself.
But after that, everything changed.
