I kept glancing up at the clock waiting for the bell to ring. I looked down at the chalk board, not reading what it said just staring. All the sudden Mr. Matthews was shouting "MR.FRIAR!!" I could tell Lucas wasn't paying attention to anything either. "Yes, Mr. Matthews?" He finally replied. Mr. Matthews kept talking about the lesson I just wanted to fall asleep, and get out of here UGH! "MAYA PENELOPE HART" Mr. Matthews screamed. I jumped thee glared at him. No one uses my middle name NO ONE! "Now, what did I just say?" Mr. Matthews asked me "Do I have to answer?" I said in a whiney voice. "Yes." He replied. I moaned and ignored him yet again. "I finally figured out how to fall asleep with my eyes wide open" I thought sarcastically. History class ending felt years away, I have never wanted to leave class this much before....I have a reason. The bell (finally) ringed and I jumped up and ran straight out of class. I opened my locker and read a note card I had written done this morning. "What are you looking at Maya?" My bff Riley asked. "A note" "From who?" She asked "From myself!" I stated slamming my locker shut. " Why would you write yourself a love note?" Riley said closing her locker gently, "I never said it was a love note....it's just a boring normal note!" I added walking towards Farkle and Lucas, Riley following behind. "Hey, Huckleberry!" I said, then Lucas turned around (why was he facing the wall in the first place? I don't know) "How would you like to go on a date with me tonight?" Lucas looked shocked but happy "I would love to." He replied "Good, pick me up at Riley's at 7!" I stated. "Will do ma'am" Lucas said tilting his invisible cowboy hat. "See you then" I said walking away with Riley by my side, I assumed she would ask questions. "So you and Lucas are going on a date?" "Yeah!" "YAY!" Riley shouted "You don't need to shout" I said "But I'm happy!" "You're always happy." "True." When then headed towards the exit of the school. "Bay window, bay window in a few minutes" Riley said as we left the school.
