6 MONTHS LATER

"Babe, come on! We're going to be late." I shouted up the stairs.

"Alright, I'm almost ready!" she shouted back. I chuckled and flopped down in the chair next to Bellah.

"Mommy been saying that for the last 45 minutes. " I said to her. She just looked at me and shook her head, which made me laugh.

"I know, it's a shame, isn't it? Come on, let's go see what's taking her so long." I said, picking her up off the couch. We walked up the stairs into the bathroom where she was at. I swear, it was like I seen her for the first time.

"What?" she said, blushing like a baby.

"Nothing. I just can't believe that my fiancee is so damn beautiful."

She put down her makeup brush and stood on her tippy-toes to peck my lips.

"Thanks baby." she smiled, picking the brush back up. Bellah stared at her in the mirror and clapped her hands.

"Do I look pretty, Bells?" she asked her. Bellah smiled and nodded her head yes. Kat laughed and finished blending in whatever she was blending in on her face.

"OK now I just need to-"

"No, we need to leave, like now." I chuckled.

"But, my necklace looks good with this outfit." she whined.

"Stop being a baby and come on. We already gonna be late as it is."

She sighed dramatically and put her makeup back in her makeup bag. We walked downstairs while she grabbed her phone and wallet.

"Yo, Kat come on man. "

"Ugh!" she said, running down the stairs. She walked out the door and went into the garage.

"I think your mommy on her cycle, lovebug." I whispered to Bellah. She just stared at me and decided to chew her fingers. I walked into the garage and put Bellah in her car seat. I got in the drivers seat and looked over at Kat. She was concentrating on a text message really hard.

"Baby. Baby. Bae. Kat!" I said loudly. She looked up immediately at me all startled and whatnot.

"I love you."

"I love you too, baby." she said, getting emotional. Yup, Aunt Flo done came to town and paid a visit.

"Sorry we're late, Dr.Johnson." I said, holding the door so Kat can walk in.

"It's not a problem. Just keep in mind that if your going to be late again, just text me." she smiled. I glanced over at Kat, who was adjusting Bellah on her lap.

"So last time we met where did we leave off?" she said, grabbing her notepad off her desk and flipping through it.

"Ah, yes. Katalina was saying that she didn't feel the 'spark' anymore, am I right?" she asked, looking up.

"Yes, that's right. I've also tried communicating more, as well." she spoke up. Dr. Johnson wrote that on the pad

"Good, good. Richard, how have you been feeling these past couple of months?" Dr. Johnson asked, looking up from her pad.

"It's been getting better. I've learned that marriage isn't going to be easy, but if we take the precautions now, it should be a very smooth marriage. We have our ups and downs." I stated. I felt Kat glaring at me, but I chose to ignore it.

"Ups and downs like?"

"Well, sometimes its hard for me to be home all the time. I just want Kat to understand that I will still be there as her fiancee and Bellah's father. "I heard Kat suck her teeth in the background.

"Would you care to share why you won't be home all the time?" Dr. Johnson asked. I felt Kat's eyes on me. Once I glanced over, I wished I didn't. Her eyes were getting bigger and watery by the second.

"Nah, maybe another time. My daughter don't need to be in the room for this."

Dr. Johnson sighed and wrote that down on her ugly ass notepad.

"Just... Just say it. Say that you're cheating on me. It's okay, I can handle it." Kat whispered into the air.

My hands balled up into fists and my jay was clenched.

"You know I hate when you say that shit. Sorry, Doctor. She's always accusing me of cheating on her and we aren't even married yet. It pisses me off because I'm out here grinding so she won't have to worry about not having anything. I don't want her to take out student loans or ask her cheap-ass uncle to help pay for the wedding. So I fucking grind, man and her ungrateful ass accuses me of cheating." I say, standing up.

"Richard, sit down please. The session isn't over." Dr. Johnson stated calmly. I grunted loudly but sat down on the couch. I love this girl with all my heart, loved her ass since fucking high school, but I can't live like this anymore.

"Look, you want the truth?"

"It would be nice." she snapped at me. I sighed loudly and pinched the bridge of my nose.

"Yo, you not making this shit easy for me. Look, I got a idea."

The room went silent for a couple of seconds until she spoke up.

"What is it?"

"Let's go out to dinner tonight, just you and me. Bellah can chill with my mom until we're done. We have some things to discuss."

"This is good. Progress is already happening." Dr. J said, scribbling away on that damn pad.

Kat sighed loudly and muttered an agreement with my idea. I grabbed Bellah's car seat and turned to Dr. Johnson.

"Thank you Dr. J."

"No problem, we'll continue 3 weeks from now?"

"Sure."

"Alright, enjoy your dinner." she called out, before closing the door behind us. I made Kat walk in front of me because I get nervous when she's mad at me and in the back of me. Hell nah! I love her, but she's crazy, man. I got Bellah situated in the car seat and climbed up to the front, where Kat was sitting with a major attitude.

"So you gonna ignore me the whole ride home?" I asked

No response.

"Ight, cool." I said with a chuckle. I'll have her talking later, that's for sure. I started the car ans I headed away from the house and towards the mall. Kat fell asleep with her phone in her hand and th shit was chiming like a mug. I'm not nosy though. I trust her. Probably her emails anyway. She signs up for every ad she sees. I honked the horn quick twice so both of these spoiled brats could wake up.

"The mall?" she said, eyes gleaming at me.

"What, you don't wanna go in?" I said, shifting the car gear.

"No, I do! Stupid ass." she muttered, getting out the car. I chuckled and got Bellah out the car seat and her diaper bag.

"Lemme carry her. I was the one who birthed her." she said with attitude.

"Ight." I said, handing her off to her mom. They both smiled at each other instantly once they were comforted by each other, and I felt a pang of jealousy. I shrugged it off and held the door open for them to walk in.

"Here. I'm gonna go check out the new huaraches. You still a size 5?" I asked, handing her the black card. She nodded wordlessly and walked off with my daughter.

"Damn, I love you!" I shouted to her. I was expecting one back but was greeted with a middle finger in the air instead.

I chuckled and walked to the Nike Factory. I fully intend to do it all night long.
