Tris Pedrad: Dauntless Born

Chapter 2

"Zeke cornered us because we played a little prank on him. See," Uriah and I say together. She turns to look at Zeke and laughs. "Good job guys. Good job. Ezekiel, learn to take a joke. Now I have to run. Bye Pedrad Trio." Uri and I just start laughing our butts off. "Mom-didn't-even-fuss-at-us!! How-do-you-like-that-Ezekiel?" Uriah and I both say in between laughing. He just glares at us. Man, if looks can kill we would be dead, I thought. "Just get ready for the Choosing Ceremony, would ya?" Zeke says while walking away to go get ready. I totally forgot about the ceremony. Since I'm already dressed as well as Uriah, we both go to meet Lynn and Marlene since Shauna is dating Zeke and wanted to wait for him.

"Hey guys! Lynn, we going in late this time?" I ask. "Of course girl. Lets do this thang!!" Lynn says. Only Lynn. "Okay, well we will see y'all there then!" Marlene yells as her and Uriah run off holding hands. Again, they're together. They are taking the train that comes 10 minutes before Lynn and my train comes.

----------Time Lapse when Tris and Lynn are outside the doors to the Choosing Ceremony----------

"Okay. You ready to make an AWESOME entrance?" Lynn asks me. "Is that even a question? I'm just glad my dad is the one hosting it so we won't get into trouble," I say. "Seriously. Okay. Walking in on 1....2....3" Lynn says. Right when she says 3, when bust open the doors like we are savage, which we are, obviously. Then everyone turns to look our way. "BOO! WHAT YOU ALL STARING AT?? DO WE LOOK LIKE MAGICAL UNICORNS THAT ARE RAINBOW COLORS THAT ARE EATING MAMMOTHS THAT ARE BEING STABBED TO DEATH BY ZEKE AND SHAUNA? NO! SO STOP STARING!" That got them to stop staring. "Tris. Lynn. Please just sit down so I can continue," my dad says. Did I mention that my dad, Max, is Dauntless leader. WOOPS! No w you know. "Alrighty, Daddy!" I say.

                                                 ----------TIME LAPSE TO ZEKE'S NAME----------

Yes! They are about to call Zeke's name! Uriah, Lynn, and I set up a prank for when he goes to choose Dauntless. "Ezekiel Pedrad," my dad says. "HAHAHA HE SAID YOUR REAL NAME!! CLASSIC! GOOD JOB DAD!" Uriah and I both yell. Okay. Our plan starts....NOW! Zeke is about to step on the pressure plate that we set up for him to step on. We told the other Dauntless-borns to not step on it or they would be pranked. We also made sure that he called the 16-year old Dauntlesses first. Right when Zeke steps on it, black goo falls on him and he shrieks like a little girl. Then, feathers fall onto him. Then we take out paintball guns that we put here last night and start shooting him. "LOVE YOU WIFI WIFEY!"(an inside joke between us four) He just takes the knife, cuts his palm, and drops it into the burning coals. "GO ZEKEY! WORK THAT GOO!" He is so gonna kill us, if he can catch us. "Love you guys too. Nice prank by the way," Zeke says when he gets back to his seat, which is right next to me. I zone out for the rest of the ceremony. An Abnegation boy transfered to Dauntless. He looks like he is fit, so he could make it if he tries and works hard enough.

                                                               ---------ON THE TRAIN--------

"Hey. My name is Tris. Your...?" I ask the Stiff. "Just call me Four." Okay. I wonder why. "It is because I needed a new name for myself since I left that one. It was so creepy how you have to do things for everyone else. And since my dad is an Abnegation leader, I got to go into my fear landscape and I only had 4 fears. P.S. you thought out loud," he says. "Okay. Sorry about that. Cool by the way. I only have six, which is why I have the initiates call me Six. I'm helping train you with my twin Uriah," I say. And with that, I jump off the train to get onto the building that is above the Dauntless compound. When I'm almost there, something happened to make me miss the roof and hang off the ledge by my hands. This never happened before. I've always made it. "Um.... Uriah.... Zeke.... Dad.... HELP ME! I'M ABOUT TO FALL TO MY DEATH HERE!" Then I feel my hands slipping. Then I feel two hands grab my arms and two grab my waist since I don't have a long torso. When I make it onto the roof, I see Uriah, Zeke, and Dad, looking scared to death. "TRIS!?!? TRISSY-POO!?!?! ARE YOU OKAY? WHAT HAPPENED?" Uriah yells. "1) Never call me that. 2) I'm fine. 3) Someone pushed me back so I couldn't get onto the roof and fall to my doom," I say after catching my breath. Then my dad walks up to the front and stands on the ledge to give the annual speech. "Welcome to Dauntless. You passed the first test to make it into Dauntless, jumping on and off a moving train. The second one if fairly easy. Just jump off this building." "Um, is there a net down there to catch us or something?" an Erudite transfer asks. "Why don't you be the first to find out since you are so curious. What is your name anyways?" I ask him. "Eric. And what is yours, pretty lady?" Ew. Gag me. "My name is Tris and please. Don't try to flirt with me. Many of asked me out and all of them have been rejected. And my brothers and dad would most likely love to throw you off this building right now." I turn to them. "Am I correct?" They just nod angrily. "See. Now you either jump or they throw you off. Pick one." Eric hesitates then says, "Okay. I choose.....
