Mel's POV
Before I knew it, daylight was shining through the windows and the orphanage mother was screaming at us to wake up. "Get up you worthless kids! It's time to get your chores done! Chop chop, the laundry won't wash itself!" Ms. Worthington was the one in charge to make sure our lives were living hells. No matter how hard you tried, she would never like you unless you were older than eighteen. She absolutely despised children and was divorced from her husband making her dislike the boys at the orphanage even more.

Chris groaned and Em rubbed her eyes, which were slightly puffy for some reason. She must have had the dream again last night. I hop out of bed quickly and try to get Em and Chris up before Ms. Worthington tears us new assholes. "Guys, come on get up," I say shaking them slightly. Em rolls over facing me, her eyes wide open, "I'm up, I'm up." Em rolls out of the bed slowly, stretching her back in the process while Chris still lays in the bed, motionless. I walk over to her side of the bed and bend down to her ear so only she can hear. "I swear to God, Chris, if you don't get up now, me and Ms. Worthington will take turns kicking your ass." At that, Chris jumps out of the bed, rubbing her eyes.

"You're so mean to me," Chris mumbles as she helps fix the sheets on the bed. I just smile, "and that's why you love me." Chris looks at me, making a face and sticking her tongue out. I laugh and just then Ms. Worthington walks into the room, anger clear on her face. "What the hell have you shits been doing for the past ten minutes?! Can't any of you actually listen besides those three?!" She points to us, as we start to collect dirty clothes off the floor that need washed. Suddenly, the room is a bustle of commotion as Ms. Worthington starts to rip off the bedsheets of still sleeping children. I honestly think she's the devil.

When Ms. Worthington finishes terrorizing the younger children for being asleep, she walks back to the door of the room almost shutting it, then reopening it, staring straight at us. "You three, come see me after you're finished with your laundry." We nod quickly and finish putting the dirty clothes we've collected into a bin to carry to the washers. Ms. Worthington closes the door with a thump and we hear her footsteps grow softer as she walks back to her office. Almost instantly, the other children around our age stop what they are doing and stare at us, snickering.

"What do you guys want?" I ask in a tone that says don't start shit with me today. Allan walks towards us, standing directly in front of me, still with that stupid ass smirk on his face. "I wonder what Ms. Worthington wants you three for...adoption maybe?" Every time that Ms. Worthington says she wants to see us, Allan taunts us because all three of us were once adopted by a nice couple. They had a big home, nice money, a pool, even a dog. The problem was they just didn't think they could handle all three of us after the first few days since Em kept having the dream every night and Chris wouldn't listen to them well. I tried being nice to them but it just felt their love for us was fake, so I sat them down and told them how I was feeling and that I just didn't think that this family would work for us and Em, Chris, and I would like to go back to the orphanage. They agreed with me saying that this wasn't the kind of thing they imagined when they had adopted three teenage girls. I'll just say it. They were assholes.

"Shut up, Allan. At least we were adopted once, unlike your sorry ass." Em laughs at this, always thinking it's funny when I put Allan in his place. "Yeah? Well at least I didn't get returned," he fires back at me, seeming pretty proud of himself. "If you don't remember this, we didn't like those jerks anyway, you idiot." Allan's smug little smirk falters a bit as he tries to think of a comeback, but is unsuccessful. "Hm," is all I say as I turn with the bin of clothes in my hands, walking to the door. "Come on Em, Chris. Before this idiot kills more of your brain cells with his stupidity." I hold open the door with my free hand as Em and Chris walk through it and walk in front of me down the corridor to the washing room. I smile as Chris does her strange little run walk thing down the hallway and Em laughs at how silly Chris looks. I'm practically the mother of our little trio, I take care of Chris and Em, make sure they're doing what they're supposed to be doing and not getting into trouble. Although most of the time I let them have their fun because we are just teenagers after all.

We finally walk into the washing room and are the only ones in there since everyone else is still gathering laundry. "Come on, help load up the washing machine and then we'll go see Ms. Worthington." Em, Chris, and I start to put the clothing into the machine when Em asks, "What do you think she wants us for?"  "Yeah, do you think someone wants us?" Chris asks. "I don't know guys, maybe. But remember what happened last time?" They both nod their heads, "I wouldn't get my hopes up, okay?" "Okay," they both respond and I throw the last shirt into the washer, putting detergent in and setting the machine to speed wash. I place the bin on top of the washer and turn to my friends, "Okay, let's go." We intertwine our arms and walk to Ms. Worthington's office, until we are standing right outside of it.

Hey guys, it's Emma! So this chapter is a cliffhanger...ewwww I know, I know lol. Oh and the picture at the beginning of the chapter is what I imagine Allan looking like. But what do you guys think Ms. Worthington wants? Do you think that Allan is right and someone will be there to adopt them or is Ms. Worthington just being a bitch? Who knows!
