A smile was on your lips as you cruised down the highway, jamming to 'Highway to Hell'. You began to sing along as you rolled your windows down.
"I'm on the highway to hell!" You sang as you tapped the steering wheel and hummed the guitar parts. You watched the sign greeting you to California pass by. Now you had to get to Jericho, which actually wasn't that far. Thankfully you got to California in a couple of hours due to only being a state over. Soon, you were at Jericho.
-------------------------------------
"Well that was easy." You said. Wrong. Soon you saw a crash on the bridge ahead. "Aaaaaand...I spoke to soon". Sighing, you kept driving as you saw a black Impala parked on the side. Looking at the crime scene, you looked for any...'suspicious' people. Eventually you saw two FBI agents, who were no doubt Sam and Dean. "Show time." You muttered as you crawled into the back of your car and put on a suit. Getting out you grabbed a fake badge and headed over to the scene. Sam saw you and excused himself while Dean glared at him before resuming the conversation.
"I see you caught up to us." He said. You nodded while you looked him up and down.
"I remember you a hell lot shorter." You said as he chuckled. "Alright, what's the case?"
"Some guy got in an accident the other night." You gave him a 'really' look. He continued, "this is the 10th one, and there's more happening, just on this highway. We found a message, 'I can never go home.'"
"What are we thinking? Ghost?"
"Probably."
"Alright, let's get in there." You said as you both headed over to Dean. He looked like he was going to say some smart-ass comment until he saw you, his eyes wide.
"Is there a problem?" The cop said.
"Uh. No. Just my partner didn't tell us she was coming."
"Just got the case." You said while looking at him before turning back to the cop. "Anyways, did you know much about the victim?" You asked.
"His name was Troy. I knew him, good kid. His girlfriend, Amy, is hanging missing person pictures downtown." He replied. You nodded. "Well I think we'll be going and checking that out. Thank you." You said as he nodded.
"No problem." He replied. You all turned around and headed back when Dean pulled over to the Impala.
"What the hell are you doing here?" He said.
"I called her here." Sam said.
"What?" He said.
"Relax." You said. "Why does it matter? I'm here to help."
"And why would you help?" He asked, looking at you.
"Because I heard the news, Dean. And besides, who said I'm not allowed to do my job?"
"That's not what-"
"Well that's what it sounded like. Anyways, I'm here now, so stop whining." You said while crossing your arms. Sam wore an amused expression as Dean stared at you with wide eyes and his mouth wide open.
"You really have not lost your sass." Dean said as you smiled. "Alright, anyways I say we head over and find his girlfriend."
"Sound good." Sam said.
"I'll follow you. So don't be stupid and get us lost." You said as you headed to your car.
"Will do Ms. Sass." Dean said as you groaned. Climbing in your car, you watched the Impala pull out and drive off. You followed right behind them as you headed off into town.
