Vampires, the demons of the night. Monster that crave blood and terrify the living. There sharp fangs pierce into your skin and drink every drop of blood till your no more than a Uninflated balloon. These things are monster living among us like normal people but for eternity.

That's what me and Sidney became three weeks ago. But it has been almost normal since we watched her house burn down in the night. Sidney and I haven't gotten the thirst for blood or even thought about it. Since then she's been staying at my house, treated like one of the family like she always does. We live with my mother and cat and since we got back she haven't noticed. I don't know if I should tell her, I don't want her to lose her mind and end up in the insane academy like my father. She slept in the guess room. It wasn't small but it wasn't all that big. It had nice white walls with a light brown wooded floor, bed, window, and a closet so she could put her things. It was nice having her here, I mean I like her what can I say? It was like a child always having there favorite teddybear or blanket all the time. I was happy and I hope she was to.

I lauded on my bed and stared at the crack in my wall. I was deep into thought and didn't hear my mother call my name. I was to busy thinking about Sidney. My mom eventually walked in snapping my out my train of thought. She was a small women about 5'5 with brown honey curls that sat on the side. She had flawless skin with a scar on her eye from my father. But she was a very awesome mother.

"Eric, didn't you hear me call you?"

I stared blankly at her, trying to read her lips so I could understand what she was saying.

"Are you ok?" She asked tapping my shoulder.

I finally snap all the way back into reality then look into her bright brown eyes.

"No Ma, I didn't hear you calling me, I'm sorry I was just....thinking."

"About Sidney?" She questioned with a smirk.

Mother already knew I like Sidney. I mean why would she? My mom can read me like a child's book, she always have that power over me. She always knew when I was lying or when I was up to something, my mom was one smart cookie so I try my best not to get on her bad side.

"Eric?" She said tapping my shoulder again destroying my train of thought.

"You always liked her. Why don't you just tell her?"

"I don't know, beats me" I mumbled turning my head another direction do she could read me as good.

"Are you nervous about her answer?"

I looked up at her. The worry in my eyes told her than she was right, and she was. What would she say or how would she react if I told her than I always liked her? Would she be shocked? Would she just keep me in the friend-zone? Ugh! I hate not being able to face my fears. It makes me feel weak.

"Yeah, I guess you can say that" I told her.

She smiled at me. It's one of those "that's adorable" smiles. She usually smiles like that when I'm scared to do something. Made me feel like a child though, IM BIG!

"It's ok to be scared Eric. Being scared is natural there's no Shame in it."

"Sigh, I just don't know if I should tell her right now. Maybe i'll give it some more time then confess."

"Your already eighteen Eric, how much waiting can you do? Soon you will be twenty then thirty, getting older and older always thinking about what she could of said or how she reacted."

I could tell she was serious by the way her face goes from cheery to her eyebrows settling with her eyes and her bottom lip poking out.

"Don't worry Ma. I won't wait that long."

Her face slowly turned back to normal. She smiled then gave me one of those mother pecks on my cheek.

"Breakfast is ready" she said running her fingers through my dark black hair. "Me and Sidney was waiting for you."

"Ok i'll be right down."

I stood up and went to the closet to put some clothes on as my mother went back down the steps.

"I'll do it!" I kept repeating to myself. "Just you wait."

After I put on my skull t-shirt that had the initials B.H.V.C meaning "Black Hearted Vampire Cat" in the middle and some dark green skinny jeans with my favorite black hat I strutted downstairs to sit at the dinner table.

Sidney was sitting in the seat next to my Ma sipping on some orange juice. She was wearing a blue shirt with a black belt topping it off with a white shirt with black shoes. she looked amazing just like she always does.

"Don't just stand there drooling like a dog go and sit down so you can eat."

I glared at my mothers comment and heard Sidney giggling in the back round which made me feel embarrassed. I sat at he table and put my head down, my mother came next to me and placed her hand on my back.

"I was just kidding Eric" she said rubbing the top of my back. You two eat i'll go upstairs and do a little cleaning."

She was doing that to be smart. She wasn't going to do any cleaning she was going upstairs to give me and her some private time. This wasn't the first time she did this, she did this when we were little and she was with her father at my house. She had brown honey curls and was wearing a light green dress covered with flowers. That was the first time we meet and my mom could tell that i like her. So her and Sidney's father went upstair to talk about "grown up things" and left us down there to get to know each other better. I was as nervous back then to be alone with her as I am right now. Stupid Mother.

"So Sempai, I have a question"

My heart started to beat really fast i don't know why because I didn't know what she was going to say but I got to prepare for anything.

"Sure Sid, ask me anything"

She started to look outside then she looked back at me.

"Since we are Vampire, do we die in the sunlight?"

I stared into those red eyes then looked at the door. That was a very good question, usually vampires die in the sunlight but in movies and other books then don't so I wasn't really sure so they only way was to test it out. I got up from the table and slowly made me way towards the door where i was stopped by Sidney.

"What if you die?" she said with concern.

I smiled and pecked her forehead then continued to make my way towards the door. Once i got to the knob I toke a deep breath and opened it walking straight outside. The sun was bright in my eyes but i felt no heat or pain from it's rays. Guess we was the type of vampires that don't die in the sunlight, good. I looked back at the house and seen Sidney smiling, i knew she was happy because she ran out and tackled me on the floor. We laughed for a moment, she looked so pretty in the sunlight and I couldn't help it. So i closed the distance between us, kissing her....for the first time.
