“I’m Luke…I’ll battle you.” He offered. He had shaggy blonde hair and blue eyes. I smiled. “Wait…aren’t you the one that tried to steal the lightning bolt?” I asked him. The people around us snickered. “Unfortunately yes…I am the lightening thief.” He said with a deep sigh. “How the hell did you mess it up?” I asked chuckling. “What? Most people hate me for that.” He said with a confused expression. “I’m princess of the Underworld; my dad is Hades. We would have been untouchable with that bolt.” I told him. “You’re the Lily Wilson?” He asked me. “Obviously.” I commented venomously. He put his hands up in surrender.
“Let the battle begin.” Neyovah said after a moment of silence. We both took our positions. We heard the whistle and I lunged. I scraped his bicep. He swung and I did a back flip, narrowly avoiding the blade. He swung again, but I ducked and swung my leg behind his ankles. His back hit the ground with an audible thud. His sword fell from his hand. I put one foot on his chest and pointed my sword at his chest. “Dead.” I said with a smile. He nodded and smiled. My sword returned to my finger in the form of a ring and I removed my foot from his chest.
He stood up and smirked at me. “Welcome to the camp.” He said before turning to retrieve his sword. “Thanks.” I turned towards Neyovah. “You are an exceptional fighter Lily.” She told me. “Thank you Neyovah.” I smiled. “Okay, everyone you’re free for the day.” Neyovah announced half an hour later.
I left to go find Casey. “Lily!” I heard someone shout. I turned to see Luke running towards me. “Can I help you with something?” I asked him. “Well, I thought that maybe you needed someone to show you around the camp.” He offered. “Chiron gave me a map of the place.” I told him as I saw Casey walking with two kids and a Saytr. “Nice try though.” I winked and took four steps back before turning and walking towards Casey.
“What did Luke want?” Casey demanded. I looked over at him and smirked. He winked and walked off. I couldn’t help, but laugh. “Nothing important.” I muttered as I shook my head. “You know he’s the lightning thief right?” The brunette chick asked quickly. “Yeah…I know, but you don’t know who I am, do you?” I asked her. Casey just shook her head as we headed towards the beach. “No, but I’m Annabeth. I’m the daughter of Athena. It’s nice to meet you.” She smiled and held out her hand.
“I’m lily; I’m the daughter of Hades.” I said with a smile. I shook her hand and bit back a chuckle. The girls face went pale. She look like she’d seen a ghost. “I’m Percy.” The boy standing next to Annabeth said hesitantly. “Lily; nice to meet you. Nice to see you again Grover.” I said as I leaned over to hug him. He and I had gotten somewhat close during his two day stay in the Underworld. We reached the beach. We sat down in the sand so the water was brushing against the bottoms of our, now bare, feet.
“Good to see you as well Lily. How was your stay in the real world? How’s Persephone doing?” Grover asked me. I was leaned against his chest playing with my ring. “She’s great. I couldn’t ask for a sweeter step-mom. I love that woman. She speaks highly of you. My stay in the real world was pleasant. I chose to leave after four months though. I didn’t like the people of New York very well, so I tried several other places and I just find that I don’t belong there. I belong in the Underworld.” I said as I thought of my home and my dogs who were ruthlessly mean to everyone but my father, Persephone and I. “Or here, of course.” I added quickly. I could feel Grover’s chest shake as he chuckled.
“Isn’t it weird? Being around all those dead people all the time?” Annabeth asked quietly. “Seriously chick; you’re gonna have to get over whatever’s bothering you. You’ve barely said a word to me since you found out who my father is.” I said with a roll of my eyes. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to be rude. It just took me by surprise.” She apologized. “It’s fine; I kind of expected someone to get freaked out.” I told her. “And no, it’s not weird. You get used to it. I mean, I grew up around this. The Underworld is my home and death is everywhere in the Underworld. Dad rarely let me out of the house until I was fourteen.” I told them.
