Five hours later I landed in Montana. I don’t even know my new home town’s name yet. My name is now Yasmine, pronounced Yas-meen, Smith, daughter of Charlie and Jacqoline Smith.
I start school the day after tomorrow. My parents told me that only around four hundred kids are in my whole entire high school.
When we get to our new “home” I realize it isn’t too bad. My room is fairly big and I have a nice bathroom. I will need to paint the walls later and make it more, well, me.
I look out the window in my room and I see that our backyard is huge!
Time to go explore it.
Woah, I love it. I wonder if my parents will let me get a horse. I’ve always loved horse-back riding but we never had anywhere to keep a horse until now!
I’m lost in my own thoughts when all of the sudden I hear loud whinnying right by my head.
I turn my head quickly and come face to face with a huge Palomino horse. I don’t even scream because I am so entranced in how beautiful the horse is.
I reach out to touch it when all of the sudden I heard “I wouldn’t do that if I were you. Linny might look sweet but she loves to bite, especially new people.”
I turn to where the voice is coming from, about to respond, when all of the sudden I see who was talking. My word was he gorgeous.
I won’t go into too much detail but he was muscular but not all big and bulky and he had dark brown hair and the most entrancing green eyes I’ve ever seen.
Uh-oh, he’s looking at me weird. Oh yeah! I was supposed to respond, he’s probably uncomfortable with me pretty much eye-raping him, oh god, he probably thinks I’m a weirdo.
“Hi, I’m Yasmine.” I said with, what I hoped, was a polite smile.
“Hey, Yasmine. I’m Andrew. I’m guessing you’re my new neighbor?”
“Yup. Oh, and nice to officially meet you Andrew. Is this your horse?”
“Sure is, she is feisty. Sorry if she startled you by the way, I don’t know how she got out of the stables. You can pet her if you want to, I saw you about to earlier, I just thought I should warn you to be cautious first.”
“Okay, thanks, I really love horses, I used to ride all the time. I was just thinking about how I am going to convince my parents to get me one.” While I was talking I was slowly reaching out to Linny, I stopped about three inches away from her nose. I calmly waited there for a minute and just as I was about to reach the rest of the way she moved her head forward and rested her nose in my palm.
“Woah, I’ve never seen Linny do that to anyone she’s just met. She must like you.”
“Really?” I asked him. “Well you know what Linny? I like you too.” I said smiling. “Hey, Andy, I have to go my parents are going to be home soon and they said they had some sort of surprise for me. Do you want to hang out tomorrow? I mean, if you don’t have any other plans or—“
“Did you just call me Andy?” Oh shoot, did I? What am I supposed to say? “Er, yeah, sorry it just sort of slipped out. Do you prefer Andrew because I can totally call—“
“No, no. I like it, Andy has a nice ring to it. And, to answer your question from earlier, I’d love to hang out. Here, I’ll give you my number..” He said while taking a sharpie out of his pocket and then approaching my arm. “Here you..go” he said while writing his number down, “just call me or text me when you want to hang out.”
“Okay, Andy. Well, I have to go know. See you later.”
“Yeah, see ya.”

I walk into my house and my parents are there smiling.
“What?” I asked them.
“Your mother and I have a surprise for you.” My dad said. “Come here, I need to show you something Laylee.” My parents still call me Laylee as long as no one is around, it’s too weird not to.
“Okay..” I reach the kitchen table and I look down at the paper my parents are looking at and I squeal in delight. “OH MY GOD! ARE YOU SERIOUS? I CAN GET A HORSE? I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH!” I can’t believe it!
“Yes, we are getting you a horse. Her name is Venus and she is all black. You will get to see her a week from now when we go and get her. She is still a little wild so they need to break her in a little more, even when she comes here she’ll be a little wild so you will need to take it slow with her and gain her trust.”
“I will! I can’t believe this! I love you guys so much! Thank you!”
“We love you too sweetie, now go ahead and get ready for bed, I bet you are tired.” My mom says.
“Goodnight momma. Goodnight dad.” I say and hug them both. “See you in the morning.”
Walking up the stair to my room I decide to take a quick shower.
As I walk into my bathroom I realize I have a glorious looking tub and my parents even have all kinds of relaxing bath salts around it! Definitely going to take a nice, relaxing bath tonight.
__
Laying down in my bed after my bath, which was amazing by the way, I decide to check the old me’s Facebook.
I have it where it doesn’t say I’m online when I am, I’d rather not give people panic attacks by seeing me online.
I look at the most recent posts. They are all about me.
‘I can’t believe she’s gone. I miss her so much! I miss talking to her every day! She was so pretty!’ Guess who said that? My friends? A person I actually talked to? Nope. It was Hilary. The bitchiest, most annoying rude person ever.
She didn’t even know I existed before I ‘died’. If only I could put her in her place.
Before I start to get angry about people I don’t know acting all upset about my ‘death’ I’m going to go look at my wall.
I just see a sea of bullshit.
I keep scrolling but then I see something that makes me smile then tear up.
My friends got on my account and changed my status to ‘Is chilling with Jesus. No biggie.’ I never thought they’d actually do that for me. Of course I liked the page and told my friend to seriously do that if my early demise ever came but I never thought they took me seriously.
I miss them.
All the comments on that post pissed me off though. Everyone was like ‘This isn’t funny’ ‘I thought she was alive but then I realized what this said. This isn’t cool whoever post this’ and yadda yadda yadda. The worst thing is that everyone saying that didn’t even know me! Jeez.
Time to get off Facebook.
I am not all that tired so I decide to read this book I brought with me. Well, one of the many books I brought with me. I am already half way done with it and I HAVE to know what happ.ens next Yes, I am a big nerd when it comes to reading. I love it. Books are even better than movies. With books you can create your own movie in your head and set it up however you like. I love that.
I’m too a really good part in my book when all of the sudden I start drifting to sleep.
