(Ashleigh's POV)
"WAKE UP" my mom yells from downstairs.
"YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE FOR YOUR FIRST DAY" Oh crap I almost forgot.
Today I start school at North High School.
"uuuurrg" I grunt as I roll out of bed and land on the hard wood floor. OUCH! That hurt. Wow! My day is already off to a bad start. I get up off the floor and walk over to my closet.
"What should I wear?" I ask aloud, as I scan through my closet looking for the perfect outfit. I put on my black skinny jeans and a light blue blouse. I pull my hair back into a high ponytail and put on some light makeup.
"Perfect" I say as I slip on my red converse.
"HURRY UP! YOU HAVE TO LEAVE IN TEN MINUTES" I hear my mom say to me from the kitchen.
"COMING!!" I yell back to her. I run downstairs to the kitchen to get some quick breakfast before I have to run out the door to catch the bus.
"Do you have everything for your first day?" my mom asks.
"Yeah, I think so." I reply to her as I grab some toast and spread jam on it.
"Ok then. Have a fun day at school. I love you" I hear my mom say as I run out the back door grabbing my backpack and shoving the bread and jam in my mouth. 'Perfect timing' I think to myself as the bus pulls up. As I climb on the bus I realize that I have to find a place to sit. Oh great! This will be fun. As I walk past a row of seats, a couple of guys wink at me and wave for me to sit next to them. I just walk right past them, rolling my eyes. I finally find an open seat next to a girl that was reading.
"Do you mind if I sit here?" I ask politely.
"Huh? Oh no. You can sit there if you want." She answers still looking at her book.
"Soooooo" I start, trying and failing at making conversation.
"If you don't mind, could you please be quiet. I am trying to read my book." She says a bit rudely.
"I'm sorry. I'm just trying to meet some new people and be friendly. If you haven't noticed, I'm kinda new here" I say getting annoyed.
"Oh. So, your the new kid."
"Yes and if you don't mind me asking. Who are you?"
"My name is Allison James."
"Nice to meet you Allison. I'm Ash"
"Ashleigh. Yea I already know." She says cutting me off.
"Oh ok then" I say kinda surprised.
The rest of the bus ride we just sat in silence and Allison went back to reading her book.
