I never thought about how hard it would be to run in a dress, probably because I've never tried it. Here I am now, running. Not that far behind me, an army of knights are coming after me. This is probably why the princess shouldn't run away from her duties, but now it doesn't matter to me. I am not ready for a life of authority, for god's sake I can't even take care of my stupid brother! How am I supposed to be responsible for thousands of people? My heart is beating so much to the point where I can almost hear it.
The damp grass on the ground leaves little droplets of water going in every direction with each step I take. Into depths of this forest I go, the trees filled with life sprouting yellow and green leaves from it's branches are perfect obstacles for anyone daring to run through. The fact that my dress is tattered should be a sign for me to stop, but I need to get away from this hell. Who even gets married at the age of 17 anymore? I then take a glance behind me to see the army of armor wearing brutes had been slowed down due to their clunky armor. I go into a full on sprint, expanding the distance between me and the knights. I am going to get away, I'll just go with flow, if I turn into some hippie and befriend a bunch of dwarves, so be it!
Minutes had passed before I took another glance, the knights that were chasing me are now out of energy, and the path between us is covered by trees. A smile tugged at my mouth, at this rate I have escaped. Low on energy myself, I turn my head back in front of me to come to a hault. A monster stood before me, a humanoid beast, the head the was a combination of a pig's features but the muzzle of a horse, bulging muscles covered the monsters body, a cat's tail extended from it's tailbone, short brown fur covered everything with the exception of the monsters demonic eyes, a leather loincloth is wrapped around it's waist, and the monster is probably around 8 feet in height. This monster is definitely a mixed breed from an ogre, all the more reason to be overwhelmed by fear. I stand there in complete shock, not knowing how to react.
I feel suffocated by the sight of the monster. For a moment we stared at each other, his wild expression hiding his scheme of how he wants to eat me and my fear of being eating taking over my instincts of running away. My wide eyed face begins to amuse my predator. He tilts his head and it sends a wave of shivers down my spine. I instantly fall to the ground and look up at him knowing what comes next. A void is in my throat instead of my voice, I desperately try to scream for help but no sound comes out. My vision began to go misty and that is when the monster lifts up his arm.
I look at the giant two handed sword he lifts with one hand, and then he does a battle cry, a shout to me. The deep roar the monster released from his mouth moves me back an inch. I throw my arms up in front of me desperately trying to survive but I know it is too late. The monster slams down his sword but all of sudden a blur moves in front of me in an instant. Not even a second goes by and I hear the monster whine out a screech, and after a second he had gone flying, several trees are filled with giant dents due to collateral damage. Now there is a man stand in front of me, his back turned to me allowing me only to see his leather red jacket with short sleeves, olive green cargo pants, and messy chestnut brown hair.
"Just in time..." He muttered out. I don't know how to respond, I want to thank him but I don't think he is from my kingdom. Instead of thanking him only a question came to mind.
"Who are you?" I asked the man. He then turned his head, revealing a cheesily heroic grin.
"Who am I? Well, I am broke..."
