Full speed ahead,
Land! Ahoy!
The rock in my heart
I put down with joy,
After all the ups and downs
And the toss and turns
Shall i be welcomed a hero
When i return.
But sadly it's a dream
I'm still marooned
In the black dead ocean
An insignificant buffoon.
The cursed stormcloud
Blots out the sky,
Let it be my shroud
As the waves come crashing by.
The stars that showed the way,
Worshipped by pagan sailors
They certainly are today
Not in my petty favor.
Finding a rite of passage,
With these young seaman bones,
Society shunned the one in between,
I have to do it on my own.
For i'm too young for the old
And too old for the young
I'll have to do what i'm told
And be the woeful hero unsung.
Waiting on a silver lining
On the horizon to appear
So at least to have a direction
So i wouldn't have to fear
Fear of being lost
And never finding my way
So a small chink of light
Would really make my day.
Even if the lighthouse
Points me to hell itself
So be it.
I'd rather have somewhere to go
Than be lost all by myself
I'll endure the exile
That is sentenced to my kind
Lest i turn into an adult, vile,
When i leave this wretched years behind
Hopefully i'll be free
Hopefully i'll be something more
Hopefully i'll find my calling
When i finally made it to shore.
For it's a longer journey
When at river Styx i arrive,
The real test begins then,
Another chance to strive,
After all the ups and downs
And the toss and turns
Shall i be welcomed a hero
When i return.

Author's Note:
This is written while I'm on a boat cruising down the South China Sea which broke down the moment I wrote the word "marooned". It's been 10 hours now I still feel like I'm rocking in that boat..... So I hope you enjoy this poem- *pukes*
