The Journey of Carmen

The Crash

It's a normal day like any other. Families spending time together playing. Except a running mother with two newborn twins in the back seat. She keeps going down the highway and the back roads. She is going running anywhere just not home.  AS the sunlight fades from view so does her mothers awareness

Slowly ever so slowly her eyes drop closed and the wheel jerks into on coming traffic. She jerks awake swerving back into her lane. She takes a drink of her ice cold water from the bright pink thermos beside her. Driving, driving further and further. 'I have to protect them' she repeats in her head. Her eyes begin to droop shut again and she falls fast asleep at the wheel.

Little Carmen and her brother black are crying int the back seat as the loud noses of cars wake them from their slumber. The car jerks hard to the right hitting another car and by some magic force the two children are thrown from the vehicle.  Almost immediately after the kids are thrown from the vehicle the engine of the car burst into flames. There was glass and bits of metal  everywhere. IT looked like a war scene. 

Fire trucks, police and ambulance swarm the road and immediately set to work trying to get the fire out so they can safely get the lady from behind the wheel. She has just enough left in her to say, "My babies where's my twins?" After that she's unconscious.

The police immediately search the area, looking for two children. Not too far from there they hear screaming of two babies. One boy and one girl. They have slight bruises and scratches but look perfectly healthy. It is a quite impossible how they landed. "It must be some kind of miracle," the first officer says. The other agrees as they pick the children up carrying them to an ambulance. The paramedics check on them and the officers were right. They were perfect unscathed despite a few bruises and scratches. The mother gets pulled into another ambulance and is rushed to the hospital. The other guy is checked on and the driver is okay too. They decide to take him to the hospital too.

A few days after being in the hospital, it's obvious the mother isn't waking up. The children are put into the system and adopted immediately but they are separated.

This is where our story begins. Carmen separated from her mother and brother. Let's see where she's at now.
