Summary: Prince Jellal is tired of entering competitions where people go easy on him because he's the Crown Prince. So what's better than entering in a competition where no one will recognize him? Except without knowing, King Faust decides to enter in that same competition as well. And a woman called Juvia Lockser..

"If King Faust finds out, he's going to be very angry," I chided. "This is the second time you've lied to him these past three months."

"Oh, be quiet," Jellal said, pulling on a dark woolen cloak. "I bet you've done things behind Porlyusica's back."

All the time.

"This is my chance to see if I really can  win tournaments. I'm tired of people competing against me and purposely losing because I'm the prince."

"I guess you're right," I said.

He nodded, clearly pleased. "This tournament's going to be in southern Fiore. Most people won't recognize me with a hood."

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, everyone has blue hair and was born with a red tattoo under their right eye."

"Riko Scarlet," Jellal said, bowing politely.

"Riko," the man said. "You're up to a tough challenge."

Jellal folded his arms across his chest. "Oh, really?"

The man laughed sympathetically. "Young Sting Eucliffe has been the champion of southern Fiore for years."

"Well, I'm going to change that."

We left the administration tent and followed the man to the holding area.

Jellal sat down and grinned. "I'm going to win this thing! I'll beat that Sting Eu-jump-off-a-cliffe guy!"

I sat beside him and shook my head. "Seriously? You couldn't come up with a different disguise name for yourself?"

"Sweetheart, I don't have time to fantasize about every single first and last name possible," he mocked.

"If one of the knights recognize that name- my fake name and my real last name-"

"They won't say a word," Jellal finished. "Because they are loyal to me."

"Loyal to your father," I corrected.

"Same thing."

I hope not. Because if you're the same as your father everyone is doomed.

"That must be Sting," I said, pointing to a young man with blond hair.

"And who's that emo guy," Jellal asked, pointing to the dark-haired man beside Sting.

"Rogue," I read, looking at the list of competitors the man had given us.

Jellal looked at the paper. "Who's Jonathan?"

"I don't know," I said, sticking the paper in my pocket. "Stop asking me."

A woman with long blue hair caught my eye almost immediately. Her hair was tied back and was tucked into a navy blue hat. Everything about her seemed gloomy. Her eyes, the way she walked... I watched as she grabbed a metal helmet and carefully put it on.

"Jellal?" I asked.

"I'm Riko," he whispered back.

"Riko, how come you didn't tell me females could compete?"
