Having arrived at the institute unotticed, Abeke crept to her room careful to avoid anyone who may have been looking for her. She quickly changed clothes so that it at least looked like she had slept there last night. The Hale threw on a blue shirt dress, quickly braiding her hair into a plait. Someone barging into her room disrupted the girl, quicker than lightening she whipped around breathing out a sigh of relief when she saw Scott.
"Where were you last night?" He asked, shutting the door behind him as he walked forward.
"What do you mean? I slept here." She tried to shrug it off but it was no use her brother kept prying at the answers he wanted.
"I can smell him all over you."
"Who?"
"Magnus Bane." He replied a smug grin etched across his face, Abeke moved over to him slapping her hand onto his mouth just in case anyone had heard.
"No one knows about our extra abilities and no one can know that I didn't sleep here last night okay?" The boy nodded, soon being released from her iron grip.
"Since when can you touch me without burning me?" He asked scratching the back of his neck.
"I learned control but that's not important because knowing Clary, I have some business to attend to." She explained before leaving the room.
Joining the duo of female shadow hunters, Abeke leaned on Isabelle's shoulder listening into their conversation as she acted normal. "He was interested in Valentine's style, fascinating."
"No, he thought I might of seen something that could help us find him."
"Did you?" Abeke spoke up, a more serious tone playing on her lips.
"I didn't see anything there but I think I might know another way." Before anything more could be added to the conversation, the sound of the door opening interupted Clary.
The trio turned to look at the doors, just in time to see someone pull them open as a purple mist embraced their figure. The woman walked through the doors, quickly shutting them behind as a shocked expression came across Isabelle's face.
"Isabelle, dressed to impress I see and you've been playing with the family heirlooms."
"Hi, I'm Clary Fray."
"Clary Fairchild, you look just like your mother we know all about you in Idris. As well as you Katarina Hale, what a lovely sight to see you, I didn't know any of your family were left."
"Well, I'm full of surprises it's just me and Scott now." She spoke, her voice quieter than the others.
"Idris?"
"The shadow hunter homeland, if you think the institute is well hiden wait till you see that place. How's Max? We all miss him, little brother cute but clingy, kinda Simon ish."
"Roberts picking him up from the Mumbai institute, where's Jace? We have a situation that has to be handled now." The woman pushed through Isabelle and Clary, not making eye contact as she talked.
"Well that's my mom." Isabelle spoke, turning to face Clary as she spoke.
The trio soon joined Maryse to see her watching Jace with a proud look etched across her face, one Isabelle had always wanted. "Is your mom always like that? She didn't even hug you."
"Shadowhunters aren't big huggers." Isabelle explained just as Jace finished his training turning to face the oldest Lightwood with a smile crossing his face.
"Maryse." He breathed out getting up as he walked into the woman's open arms. "Hey, it's good to see you." They embraced in a hug, Isabelle possessing a disappointed look as she watched the two. "How's everyone in Idris? Where's Max?"
