Its been a month sience Emily and I have met. We don't have any food or shelter. We finally find a small fielded area that seems to be the safest for so far. This has been are fith place we've tried camping in this month. As we get to our little camp Emily says,"I'll go look for some buildings that may be safer." Then she took off.
Once she was gone I thought to myself, leave me to do the dirty work. As I finally for the fire wood together and blankets laied down I headed out to look for some suplies myself. I came to a burnt down house that had a sandbox in the backyard. The sandbox had a few plates and cups that were dirty and some were broken too pieces. There were a bunch of toys though, but that was it. I walked inside the house that had nothing but broken pieces of glass. As the Sun started to go down I started heading to the little camp.
When I got thier Emily was yelling for me to come to her. I ran through the woods trying to catch up with her. Finally Emily was slowing down so she could catch her breathe. When I was caught up to her she said with all the air she had left,
"Th-there's two - ki- ds!"I ran to the screaming of the two kids. There was a boy and a girl. I yelled at them, "Come on! Now!" As the kids were running towards me I was shooting the walkers. Emily grabbed the smallest, which was the boy and I grabbed the girl. As we both had a kid on our back we tried running as fast as we could.
When we made it to the little camp me and Emily started packing up as fast as possible. I turned around to get a good look at the kids. The girl had brown curls and was wearing a green dress with black pants under neath that were slightly trone and dirty. The boy had blonde hair with a black shirt and ripped blue mean pants that looked no longer blue.
I quickly said, surprised I forgot,"Emily. Check them." Emily was checking them to be sure that didn't have any bites. I was done putting in our last object, that was a water bottle, and zipped up the backpack.
"Clear." Emily said.
I took a deep breathe of relief that I won't have to shot a kid. Emily grabbed a big hand bag and a lugage bag that was half way full of weapons. I grabbed the backpack and my crossbow. Emily and I both grabbed a child's hand.
"Mabey we could go to those apartments we saw earlier." I said coming up with something.
"Whatever is safe for these kids." Emily said.
Then we headed to the apartments.
As me and Emily were patching up the door the kids were complaining about how they wanted their toys and how they miss their house. When we were done I asked the kids, "Are you two brother and sister?" They both nodded.
"What are your names?" Emily asked.
They shrugged their shoulders.
"What?" Emily asked confused.
The little girl began to speak in a soft quiet voice, "we're orphans. My orphan name is Alexia, and my brothers is Alexander."
"You poor things." Emily said hugging them.
"Do you want different names?" I asked.
"Yes please!" the boy shouted.
"Why don't you guys pick your own name?" Emily asked.
The boy already knew what name he wanted. "Logan." He said.
It took the girl awhile and then she said, "Jordan."
Emily finally fellasleep after are long day, while the kids were whispering to one another. Their soft, sweet whispers of a child.
