Chapter Three - Betrayal

Regulus's POV

After that night everyone was questioning me. So was I. I felt horrible about what I did to my own little sister. Honestly I think my parents are wrong about everything with our own purity. They praise it like a sacrament or a religion. I only act like this because of people around me who are training to be on You-Know-Who's side once they graduate.

Mum and dad are pressuring all three of us to be death eaters every since HE came into power. They basically filled our heads with mud-blood *cough* excuse me I mean Muggle Born hatred since we were kids. I just don't want my little sister getting hurt or in trouble by our parents. I didn't want her reputation ruined.

Carina's POV 
I didn't want to be seen at all. After that I couldn't be alive anymore. I felt myself drift off into sleep in the arms of whoever was picking me up.

I woke up to someone dropping me off in a bed. I opened my eyes to see.. James Potter? "Goodnight, Carina" he whispered to me as he left the dorm. I was too tired to think about some things that confused me so I fell right back asleep.

Morning After
I woke up to a pillow being thrown at my face. "Get Up" some girl told me. Right when I opened my eyes she stormed out of the dorm. What was her deal? I got up to find myself in the uniform I was just wearing last night. It felt dirty so I decided to wear my other pair of it with a Gryffindor Tie.

After grooming myself for today I came out of the door and went down the stairs into the Gryffindor common room. When I reached the bottom of the staircase I found my brother and his friends aka "The Marauders". They seemed to notice me as they're attention turned towards me.

"Carina!" Sirius called out "come over here we want to give you something". I walked over to them not knowing anything. "Come here" James ordered motioning his hand towards the sofa him and Sirius were sitting on. I came over to them as Sirius grabbed my wrist sliding something onto it. I looked down onto it seeing a beautiful bracelet with Crimson and Gold jewels surrounding the metal.

I smiled at it as the light from the window reflected off it making pretty lights. "Does she like it?" Peter asked. "I can't tell" I heard Remus say despite being pretty intelligent. "I-I" I stuttered feeling all of the boys eyes on me. "It's so beautiful!" I said hugging James and Sirius. "Told you she would love it." James told Sirius . I walked over to Peter and Remus and hugged them too.

After we chatted for a bit we all headed down towards the Great Hall only to find Regulus with our cousins and other Slytherins in front of the entrance. There were about five of them, Regulus, Bellatrix, Nacrissa, Lucius Malfoy, and I think another boy with the last name Lestrange. "Well, Well, Well who do we have here?" Lucius sneered "the four idiots and the new blood traitor". He narrowed his eyes at me then down at my bracelet.

Everyone else caught the attention of the bracelet that hanged on my wrist with its shiny Crimson and Gold jewels. "Oh wow, she really is a traitor" I heard Regulus comment. All five of them began to glare or non-expressively stare at it. "So Cari" Bellatrix spoke up "how's it like being a flithy-dor?". "It's GRYFFINDOR get it right Bella" I snapped back at her. Everyone looked at me confused. I've never snapped at anyone like that except for my own brothers.

"I see" Regulus said "showing no respect towards your own family? So much betrayal being portrayed". I started to feel a little bad about it. "First of all you sassy punk, you pretty much embarrassed her yesterday by calling her out and also Bellatrix just insulted a whole house so Carina has the right to be like that" James pointed out. He had a point.

"All right all of you go eat" I heard someone order. It turned out to be Andromeda, my cousin and Nacrissa and Bellatrix's sister. She was the middle child of their family and she was also Sirius's favorite cousin. Out of all three of them Andromeda was the most responsible one. "But sissy we were just about to hex them!" "I don't give a damn just go eat!".

After all the five Slytherins and The Mauraders left it was just Andromeda and I outside of the Great Hall. She wanted to talk to me about things. "Carina don't worry about any of my sisters or your brother or your parents" she told me "you shouldn't care about anyone else's approvals of your choices in life". She was right but the thought of not having my parents happy about my life made me a little sad about myself. "I also know that you're going to be annoyed by Sirius and his friends so stay calm" we both laughed but I didn't mind them.

After the talk was over I walked inside the great hall and took a seat in between Sirius and James. "Carina open your mouth" Sirius ordered. "Wh-" I did as he said but before I could ask why he shoved some kind of toast into my mouth. It tasted like as if the piece of toasted bread has peanut butter spread onto it with banana slices covering it. It tasted really good and a little salty but I still enjoyed it. 

"Well do you like it?" James asked. "Whoever's idea this was they're genius" I replied as they all smiled. I turned to Sirius and "calmly" said, "but next time, DON'T SHOVE THE WHOLE THING DOWN MY MOUTH SO THEN I DON'T DIE". Sirius started to die of laughter and so did the other three. "Awh now we know that little Carina turns into a cute monster when she's angry" James taunted resting his arm on my head making me even more annoyed. The rest of that day was fun I got to learn about things I never knew about this world I'm going to live in for the rest of my life.
