Aiden's Pov

I couldn't help but sneak glances at her as she wrote in her notebook. Her beautiful green eyes focused on every word she wrote. I couldn't believe I actually befriended her. I was surprised she even talked to me, I expected her to just brush me off like all the other pretty girls in this school do. When I saw her walk into school this morning it was like my world stopped. Of course I couldn't see her eyes at first because she was still wearing her sunglasses, but then she walked into my homeroom class and I took in the whole image of her, starting from her gorgeous green eyes, to her waist length chocolate hair, past her curves, down to her high heeled leather boots. She was stunning, I had to distract myself with talking to Logan to get her off my mind. I was praying that I didn't have anymore classes with her so I can get the stupid thought of having a crush on her out of my mind. I mean I stand no chance with her, she's beautiful enough to be a model and I'm just plain Aiden, the nerd who gets bullied everyday and does the jocks homework in exchange of not getting beat up every now and then. I'm an embarrassment, she deserves better, I tried to forget about her as I settled into my english class. However I found out my prayers weren't answered when she walked into my english class, and just my luck the only empty seat was next to me. The whole class I tried not to look at her but I couldn't help it and unfortunately she caught me, which was incredibly embarrassing, especially when I heard her laugh to herself. And to top off my embarrassment, Ricky humiliated me in front of her. I ran right out of that classroom and to the boys bathroom. I had to splash my face with cold water, I needed to stop thinking about her. Unfortunately the heavens hate me because when I stepped back into the hallway there she was, standing in the middle of the hallway looking like a lost puppy. I guess she was looking for the music class because its the only class that doesn't have a number next to it since its held in the auditorium. That's when I made my first mistake. I talked to her and even ended up walking to class with her since I found out she was in all my classes. I tried to fix my mistake by attempting to convince her that we shouldn't be friends, that it will ruin her image. To my surprise she didn't agree with that, she wanted to be my friend. She wanted to be friends with me...Me! I didn't know how to respond to that, I mean no girl has wanted to ever be friends with me, they just talk to me when they need help with a problem in class or they need to copy a homework assignment that they forgot to write down. I decided to just go with it, at least I'll be able to be near her and I can admire her when she's not paying attention. Like I am right now.

"Nuclear sizes are expressed in a unit named.. what? Does anybody know? ..fine..Aiden do you know the answer?" I snapped out of thoughts when I heard my name, good thing I was listening while I was zoned out "Fermi" I quickly answered.

"Correct!" The teacher returned to the board and started writing the definition, I let out a breathe, that was close. The bell rang and Desiree quickly put her things away "Lunch time finally!" she groaned as she followed me out of the classroom.

"Someone's excited for lunch" Logan said with a chuckle as we walked down the hallway.

"It's my favorite part of the day, I love food I can't help it" Desiree said. We walked into the lunchroom and immediately lined up. We got our lunches then walked towards the door that lead outside, "You guys eat outside?" Desiree said curiously as we sat down at our usual lunch table outside near the gym.

"Um..yea, its easier for us to eat in peace outside, the jocks are always being loud and picking on freshman inside so we try to avoid it, the only time we can't is when the weather is bad outside". Logan explained.

"Does anybody else smell Cigarettes?" Desiree suddenly asked as her nosed scrunched up in disgust.

"That's just me sweetheart" We turned around to see Mason sitting on the steps that lead to the gym.

"O Hey Mason" I said, Mason is a fellow outcast at this school, he usually have brief conversations with him during lunch as he smokes his cigarette. He's in all our classes but he sits all the way in the back in the far corner so no one can see him, he just likes to be by himself.

He put out his cigarette and walked over to the table "Hey guys, hanging out with Ms. America I see." Mason sat down next to Logan and stole a fry off his plate, which earned him a glare. "What part of New York are you from?"

"Manhattan"

"Cool, you're the first person I've ever seen these guys hang out with, I guess you guys aren't total losers"

"Mason you hang out with us losers too you know" Logan said rolling his eyes.

"Yea but she's a girl, girls don't hang out with you guys".

"Gee Mason you're really boosting our confidence right now buddy" I said, we kinda have a love/hate friendship with Mason. He thinks we're nerds, but he still hangs out with us.

"I don't see why you guys don't have more friends, I mean I like you guys I don't think you're losers at all. Those Jocks are just jerks who try to look cool by beating up other people, they're the real losers" Desiree said before she got up to through her plate in the trashcan near the table.

"If you're not wearing a Jock jacket, you're worthless to them" Mason said. Mason gets in fights with the Jocks all the time, mostly Ricky, he hates him just as much as I do.

"You guys are not worthless and you shouldn't let them put that in your heads". Desiree tried to reassure us.

"Don't you think your reputation will be messed up if you're seen hanging out with us?" Logan said bringing up the same topic I tried to talk to her about earlier.

"I've already been seen with you guys, I've been with you guys all day and plus, I don't have a 'reputation' here yet. I don't care what people think, I'll be friends with who I want to be friends with" Desiree's sassy attitude is really sexy, I'm going to have a hard time trying to resist this girl.

"Well welcome to the outcast club" I said with a grin.

"Thanks I'm happy to be a part of it" She said smiling back. I hope she doesn't get the same torment that we do.
