~In my world~
I have no memory. A fragment or my past, whispers maybe forgotten. I am certain of who I am, but uncertain of who that is. I am Cloris, Cloris and no memory of a last name. Who is Cloris? No trace of a family. Remnants of friends who I do not know. All I have is the moment as it is now, and whatever may come to me in the future. Tan skin, blond highlights in my hair, two green eyes. This body that is not mine. No clue to as if I exist, and no desire to do so. So here I am, in my "perfect" world, and I will search. In this twisted version of my reality, I will find that desire. The very desire to exist.
It was something like a bright flash. The feeling of air leaving my body. Liquid ice invading my very soul, as if I had plunged into the ocean. The last thing I remember was falling, or was I flying?
My eyes opened as I inhaled deeply. The area around me smelled like fresh cut grass. The sky I looked up at was a brilliant shade of blue. I rolled onto my stomach and propped my chin on my hands. A green meadow stretched out to a forest on the horizon. A clear lake sat behind me and I dangled my feet in it. I rolled onto my back and extended my arms to the sky. A giant star hung over the forest while while Earth herself hovered far past the lake. The beautiful blue planet revolved slowly as the moon orbited around her. I sighed and let my hands fall to my chest.
"So this is my world?," I said out loud.
A bubbling sensation grew inside me. It began in my stomach and worked its way up until it burst. I began laughing hysterically. I clutched my stomach and rolled onto my side. I was a victim to uncontrollable laughter.
"My world!," I repeated loudly as I laughed.
I pushed myself to my feet and stretched. I reached my arms high as they could go and balanced on the very tips of my toes. I stared at Earth with a smirk on my face.
"This is my world!," I shouted at Earth.
There was no response, I didn't care. I was in my world.
My arms flew out to my sides and I twirled around. I spun around and danced. My feet carried me across the meadow. The shining surface of the Crystal lake faded in the distance. A smile played across my lips, not a hint of sadness. My feet continued to move.
My bare feet finally touched the ground, feeling cool against the damp grass. I wandered into a garden near the lake, my garden. The flowers were in full bloom, like they are year round. That's how it is in my world. I walked among the many plants and stopped to admire a rose bush. It was dotted with pretty white roses. My hand reached out to caress a single bloom. It fit perfectly in my palm. A light tug was all it took, the flower came away with the stem between my fingers. I brought it to my nose and inhaled the fragrance. The petals brushed against my lips with the grace of a butterfly.
My feet began to lead me away. My world was getting a little lonely. I walked out of the garden and looked around. The lake slapped at the shore, beckoning me to go and take a swim. I ignored it and turned away. The sound of a branch cracking caught my attention. I looked to the right of me where the sound had come from. My feet shifted in the grass and I began to move toward the noise. I didn't know where I was going, but when I reached the end of the garden, I knew I was almost there.
The sound of sobbing stopped me. A tree stood in my path, but the crying came from behind it. I walked around the tree cautiously as the crying got louder. It was the tire swing, an old tire tied to a twisted branch of a large tree. A girl sat on the tire swing and sobbed pathetically to herself. The identity of the girl popped into my mind. She was a friend of mine, a girl named Amethyst. She was the type to cry lot, I'm not surprised that it's her. Her sensitivity and excessive crying got on my nerves sometimes.
