Saturday. My phone alarm blares beside my right ear to remind me to "MERT FOR COFFEE" and I wonder what "mert" means for a moment before finally waking up enough to realize that I apparently don't know how to spell simple, four-letter words correctly. I roll my eyes. I had an hour before I am supposed to meet him, anyways. Sitting up, I yawn, rubbing my face vigorously. Ugh. Yawning again, I stand, deciding to rid my mouth of its morning breath taste. Afterwards, I dress myself. Nothing too formal, but not unpresentable. Casual. I pop two waffles into the toaster and wait for them. POP! They are warmer than I had expected an burn my fingertips. Finally, I grab my to-go breakfast and head out the door, knocking twice on my mother's bedroom door next to the sticky note I left her to tell her I am leaving.
And then I'm gone.
