I let out an inhuman shriek as my brother, Damon launched himself at me, throwing me to the ground. I tackled him, shredding his stone cold skin as I fought to defend myself, breaking his leg and left arm as he bit me in a weak attempt to startle me. My waist length black hair whipped around as I hurtled him to the floor, creating a deep trench in the dirt. I then spat down at him, raising my arms as I challenged another of my two hundred brothers to try and defeat me. I'd already taken down thirty of them, getting off with barely a scratch every time. Stephan, Kaden, Silver, Aden and Wren had been sent to the hospital wing, however, nursing serious injuries that would take days to heal.

I hissed under my breath and curtsied in the direction of my father before I stormed off to the forest, my long black dress swishing around my feet. I unfolded my black umbrella, opening it above my head as I walked into the trees, my eyes black with fury. Must my father always test me so? I huffed and sat down on a boulder, staring at a deer. I sighed, jealous of the freedom it had, and beckoned it forward. It lay its head on my lap as I stroked its soft fur, murmuring sweet things into its ear.

"You have no idea how lucky you are," I mumbled. "You can just run at any point. I'm stuck here with the psychos. I mean, yeah, I'm faster than any of my kind, stronger as well, but they'd search for me as soon as they realised. I've always been the outcast, being the only girl and  the chosen one, I've hardly had a calm life. And then there's you, so sweet, so free. I'd die again to be like you." I didn't realise I'd started crying until the deer rubbed a tear off my cheek with its nose.

Forest animals surrounded me, cuddling into my sides as silent streams trickled down my face. For you see, I thought it barbaric to harm living creatures and had resorted to eating human meats; chicken, pork, sausages, beef, things like that which had already been killed. As I stroked the head of a white rabbit, I caught a glimpse of a large furry thing in the trees. Thinking it was just a horse or something, I stood up and held my hand out. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you."

The animal looked up and down me cautiously before stepping into the open. It was a wolf, jet black and huge, standing to my shoulders on all fours. I gasped and stepped back, almost tripping over a deer that was led on the floor as I stumbled backwards. It wasn't just a wolf, it was a werewolf. I squeezed my eyes closed as I collapsed to the ground, not wanting to attack for the safety of it and the other animals. I just wanted peace in my life, I didn't want all this Chosen One stuff or to be the only girl. Or to be the Werewolves' enemy. The wolf seemed to read my mind and its eyes widened as it padded forward carefully.

I cried silently on the floor, scared that it was going to kill me. I knew I wouldn't defend myself for the safety of the beautiful creatures around me. I curtsied low as tears streamed down my cheeks, pooling on the ground as the wolf got nearer, shifting when it was two steps away from me. In its place was a heavily muscled tanned man with jet black hair and stunning green eyes. He watched me, a hard look in his eyes and I respectfully kept my gaze on the dirt which was now wet from my tears. A sob tore itself from my small body as the man crouched in front of me, he was a Beta, I could tell from his size. Big but not quite big enough to be an Alpha.

I kept my gaze lowered so I wouldn't be provoked to attack, still thinking of keeping the animals unharmed. I felt someone prodding around in my brain just as I realised what pack he was in, Black Moon. His eyes snapped to mine as they filled with confusion. "I didn't want to do this." I barely had time to take in what he'd said before his hands shot to my right leg, snapping it like it was a twig as I screamed, a noise that would carry for miles. I sensed my coven running to the sound and my eyes widened with fear.

"You have to go, now!" I said, expecting him to put me down and run, but instead he took me with him, sprinting through the trees at an alarming pace, even for a werewolf. I clenched her teeth, keeping back the shrieks of agony threatening to escape as my leg hit a tree, shooting pain up through my bones. The man carrying me was glaring into the forest, obviously angry that he had to carry me, he blatantly thought I would tell my father about him. He looked around twenty.

How I knew this, I did not know, but it might become helpful later on. A frustrated yell snapped me out of my thoughts, one that belonged to my brother Cole, no doubt. He was a tracker and had obviously lost my scent which had now mixed with the werewolf's. I payed no attention to the forest as I again became submerged in my thoughts.
