After about 15 minutes of showering my mind starting wondering to the time when my mother was around, we were once so close then she started changing. Disappearing months at a time, never getting a phone call from her till one time she left and never came back.
-Flash back: age: 16-
My father and I sat watching tv, our favorite late night show: Modern family. It was around 10, I couldn't sleep so I sat on the couch with my father who was barely awake since he worked a double shift that night.
As I laid my head down on the couch pillow the door fling open causing my dad to jerk up.
My mother walked in, slamming the front door  her drunk as hell. I stood up with my father following behind him.
"Mommy is that you?" I asked as I reached the corner of the hallway seeing her leaned against the wall. My father rushed over to her side, making sure she was fine. "I'll get some water" he said turning back, and he jogged over to the kitchen. My mother looked like a mess, her hair messed up, her makeup smeared over her lips, her work shirt inside out. Father knew she was with another man but I f was so blinded by love and innocence that i ignored it all.
"Why the hell are you up, you stupid bitch." She spat looking at me, and I took a deep breath before replying.
"I couldn't sleep mommy , can I help you to bed?" I said inch over to her, and she snarled.
"Don't you fucking come over here, go to fucking bed, I don't need your annoying ass following me. Your worthless, I can walk myself!" She yelled as she made her way over to me but she stumbled over her own leg almost falling.
"I don't want to go to bed!" I said tears almost spilling out of my eyes as I felt her hand connect with my cheek causing me to fall back.
"Don't you ever fucking yell at me, young lady. I don't who you think you are I'm your mother, you are nothing." She yelled as she looked at me.
I slowly stood up as my father walked into the room.
"Kristen! What the hell!" He yelled as he walked over to me, helping me stand straight. I turned to my mother looking at her with her hand print on my cheek and spoke with tears running down my cheeks.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry I'm such a disappointment! I'm sorry I'm useless! I'm sorry I'm a disgrace! I'm sorry I'm anti- social! I'm so fucking sorry I was even born!" I yelled then dashed up the stairs not knowing that would be the last time I would ever speak to my mother.

-Flashback ended-
I groaned as I wanted my brain to stop thinking, and let me be happy but life wasn't that easy. I simply turned the water off, then stepped out of the shower, and dried my self off. I needed this night to be perfect, for my father and myself. We needed some sort of happiness and this could be the start. I quickly put my jeans, on along with the white shirt, then I searched the cabinet under my sink for my straighter.
"Ashley Anne will be here in ten minutes, and dinner is almost ready!" My father yelled from downstairs and I quickly turned the straighter on, and did my hair with some soft curls on the ends.
"I'm coming dad!" I yelled back finishing my hair, then I unplugged the straighter. It was my mothers, the last thing that I had for her.
I shook my head running out of the bathroom, making my way to my vanity putting light makeup on.
"Ashley there are here!" My father yelled once more this time a bit annoyed and I sighed putting lipstick on, then I ran downstairs to be faced to face with my new family.
