I stumbled out of the bushes and wiped some snow off of myself. The town was peaceful, there weren't many monsters roaming the streets, perfect. I shivered slightly and began to walk around. I stopped at a shop and stared at my reflection in the window. My hair was messy, my clothes were soaked, my sneakers were soaked as well and I was cold. The sharp wind didn't help at all.

I sighed, letting a puff of mist escape my mouth and wrapped my hands around myself in attempt to keep myself just a little bit more warm. I strolled around, trying to find a place to stay the night. Maybe there's a hotel near by? Do they have these here? I yelped as I felt something bump into me. The papers that someone was carrying scattered all over the place.

"O-Oh I'm so s-sorry, miss!" A boys voice stuttered and bowed his head low, before crouching down and starting to pick up his papers. "It's quite alright." I replied and started to help him pick up the pieces. Once the papers were gathered, I stood up straight and handed the monster kid his papers with a small smile. He pushed his glasses higher up his nose and took the papers from me. Our hands brushed briefly while at it. "Oh! Your hands must be freezing!" The kid breathed out and dug his hands into his pockets, pulling out a pair of orange mittens.

"Here, you need these more than I do. Can't really feel cold." He extended the mittens towards me with a sweet smile. "Uh.. Thank you, but I don't-"

"Nonsense! Think of it as a..thank you gift from me for helping me gather my things. Most monsters wouldn't help at all.." The kid stepped closer and put the mittens in my hand. "Thank you..that's so nice of you." I stared down at the mittens in my hand. This kid was so generous and Just because I helped him with a small thing. "You're welcome!" He cheered but then stopped and slapped a hand over his forehead. "Oh my Asgore! I'm gonna be late. I must get going now, thanks, again. And if you're interested in having a good cup of hot chocolate, there's a place called 'Grillby's' down the street. Good luck!" And with that, he rushed off, taking a sharp turn and exiting my view. Wait, didn't Toriel mention Asgore as well? Who is that guy..

I put on the mittens the kid gave me, they fit just right. I smiled, and remembered that even the little things you do for someone, can give you a reward back. Just be helpful and keep an opened mind. I shook my head and started to walk down the street past weirdly shaped houses, interesting shops and a pet shop full of puppies. Thankfully, no one was out at the evening. I was surprised the monster kid didn't know I was a human, too.

I stopped in front of a place called Grillby's. This must be the place that kid was talking about. Huh..never got his name. I pushed the door open, which set off a tiny bell, and was surprised to see it was empty. Was it closed?

Suddenly, a monster with a tux entered behind the counter. That wasn't what surprised me, no...it was the fact that his head was on fire! Literally! And are those glasses? How do they not melt?

"Hey, kid, you look like you've seen a ghost." The monster spoke. Judging from his voice, it was a male. I cleared my throat and walked towards him. My palms started to get sweaty witch each passing second.

"Could I have a cup of hot chocolate?" I asked, gulping down a lump in my throat. Boy, this was making be feel like I was about to go to the dentist, in other words, I was nervous. "And some fries, please."

He nodded and disappeared behind a door. Guess you pay after you eat? Hm. Okay. I sighed and went to a seat near a window and sat down, staring at the dimly lit town. There still was no monsters in sight, was this place poorly populated? But there's so many houses...

I remembered I had a map with me, so I quickly took it out and layed it out on the table. I quickly located the ruins and slowly traced my finger along the path I took. "So then I took a right...and then left...or was it right again? Hm..." I hummed. I hate to admit this, but I'm not good with maps.
