Chapter 2

Liza's POV
"Liza, get out of bed before I come up there" my mum yelled from the kitchen.
"I can't hear you, I'm sleeping" I say checking the time, "6:20, it's still early " I say to myself
"Elizabeth Aquene Smith, don't make me come up there" she yelled, anger obvious in her voice. I hate it when she calls my full name,
"Fine, and my name is not Elizabeth it's Liza" I say before entering the bathroom, which was smart because immediately I close the door I hear her shouting at me at the top of her lungs.
I come out of the bathroom after like an hour of playing with my phone, dancing and looking at myself in the mirror before taking a bath. I go to my walk in closet to look for something to wear, after 30 minutes of searching, I finally decide to wear a crop top with ripped jeans, a kimono jacket and brown boots. I curl my hair and use my hands to scatter the curls so they look rough, I put on some eyeliner then use mascara then I use red lipstick that blends with my lips. By the time I'm done, I only have 40 minutes left. I go downstairs and my breakfast is sitting on the counter.
"Yumm, my favorite; bacon strips, sausages and eggs" I say looking at my food like it was my long lost lover and I had just found it
"Yeah, it's my favorite too" my brother, Devin says taking a strip of my bacon
"Mooom" I yell
"Devin leave your sister alone" she says in a tired voice
"You're such a baby"
"And you're so immature" I say before sticking my tongue out at him
"And you call me immature" he says rolling his eyes
"I'm pretty sure if you do that too much, your eyes will fall out"
"That's dumb, but I understand since you're dumb"
"Mooom" I yell again
"Devin, stop it" she says obviously tired of us
"Okay, time for you guys to leave" my mom says
"Bye mom" devin and I say in unison before kissing her goodbye.
"Hey, can we stop at cherry's on our way?, I have to pick up my project" I ask
"Yeah sure"
After getting my project from cherry's and driving for 20 minutes we finally arrive at my school.
"Bye Dev, don't bother coming to pick me cause I'm following Mac home"
"Okay, bye Liz" he says before driving off in full speed.
I go to school at Silver Gem High which is one of the best schools in the district.
I get into school a few minutes before the bell rings which is good.
I get to my locker and get my books for my first and second class of the day which is history and English.
"Hey Liza" I hear Mac say once I close my locker door
Mac Silvers has been one of my best friends since The 8th grade when he first moved here from England. Mac is 16 just like me, but older by months. Mac lives with his mom and his two sisters, Ariana and Nicki, 13 and 11 respectively, he's the only guy in his family that's why he's always with us all the time, but nevertheless he still loves his mum and sisters.
"Hey b"
"So, there's this party at my friends house this Friday night" Mac was saying when he was interrupted by the sound of Ian and Cassie laughing
Ian Winters has been one of my best friends since the second grade when he stole my apple. Ian is 17, he's the oldest among all my friends. Ian lives with his parents and his brother and sister, Brad and Ruby, 14 and 12 respectively. Ian is a pretty chill guy but he kinda has anger issues, that's why he has to see a therapist every weekend which has helped a lot.
Cassie Brown however has been one of my best friends since 1st grade when she first moved here from Florida, which is were her parents live. Cassie is 15 which makes her the youngest among all my friends, but we still treat her the same way we treat our age mates. Cassie lives with her grandparents and her 3 cousins while her parents are still in Florida. Cassie is an only child but it doesn't feel that way when she's with her cousin who are around her age. Cassie is very sweet and calm but when she's angry there's no stopping her.
"Hey guys, what's so funny" I ask
"Oh, well this morning on our way to school we saw this guy and his girlfriend walking past Ray's house, then the guy suddenly went down on one knee and brought out a box, obviously you'd think he wants to propose, but guess what was in the box..."
"What" Mac asks curiously
"A handkerchief to clean his face" Ian says with a huge grin on his face
"Oh wow, that is cold"
"I know right that's why it's so funny" Cassie says
Just when I was about to ask about Ray, she walks up to us.
"Hey guys, sorry I'm late" she says rummaging through her bag
Ray Grayson has been my number one best friend since my first day of first grade, she was actually my first friend and we've been best friends since then. Ray is also 16, but is older than me by days. Ray lives with her brother, Michael, and his girlfriend, Diana, since her parents got divorced, but she doesn't mind because her brother and his girlfriend are like a father and mother to her. Ray is a really awesome girl and is like the most out going person I know which is why she's my number one best friend.
"What are you looking for" I ask curious as to what she angrily searching her bag for
"This morning I woke up late cause my stupid alarm didn't ring which was weird because I'm always with my phone but I just thought maybe Rory took it..."
Rory is Diana's little 12 year old brother.
"...but when I asked him he said he didn't take it and I've been looking for it since then which is why I'm late" she says angrily
"Well you came just in time for 1st period" just as I say that the bell for 1st rings and we all go our separate ways. I have history with the boys so we go the same way.
I get to history class and sit in my usual sit at the middle of the class with Ian and Mac on either side of me. History class is the same as always, just mr.Jace talking about some things that happened during the civil war and other history stuff that I've heard over and over again. The bell finally rang after sitting there for seemed like hours. My 2nd class before lunch is English. I don't have English with any of my friends but I know some people in the class anyway. I get to class just before the tardy bell rings and sit down at the back near a girl I think I know.
"Hey Liza" she says
"Hey"
"Don't you remember me?" she asks
"Well, not really" I say with an apologetic look on my face
"I'm Kelly, we met at Charlie's Halloween party last year"
"Yeah, I remember"
"I heard what happened"
"What happened?" I ask looking confused
"You and Charlie's break up"
"Right, it's no big deal it was meant to happen any way"
"Alright class, be quiet" Mrs. Newman says as she enters about 5 minutes later
"Today we'll be talking about concord"
"We've done this a million times" Kelly whispers to me
"I know right"
"open your textbooks to page 60, read it and answer the questions" she says as she sits down and opens her laptop
After an hour thereabout, the bell finally rang signaling time for lunch. We all submitted our work and left.
"Hey, we're you going now" I ask Kelly as we leave the class
"I think I'll just go to a pizza place or McDonalds or something" she says with a shrug
"What about your friends?"
"I don't really hang out with people, I mean I talk to people and go to parties but I don't really sit at lunch or have sleepovers or stuff like that"
"Well that's not nice, today you are sitting with my friends and I"
"That's not really necessary"
"Yes it is" I say dragging her with me to the cafeteria
At the cafeteria I see Ray and Mac sitting at our usual table
"Hi Liz" Mac says
"Hey Liz" Ray says looking up from her phone before staring back at it
"Hey guys, this is Kelly" I say motioning toward Kelly
"Hi" she says shyly
"She will be joining for lunch today" I say sitting
"That's cool" Mac says just as Ian and Cassie appear
"Hey guys" Cassie says in a chirpy tone
"Hey b"
"Hey who's the girl" Ian says obviously talking about Kelly
"Oh she's my new/old friend from Charlie's Halloween party and English class" I say introducing Kelly
"Oh hey Kelly" Cassie says smiling then checks her phone
"Okay what's up with her" I ask suspiciously
"Nothing, I'm just happy that's all" she says smiling a little wider
"Oh really, then would like to share your reason for being happy with us" I say eyeing her phone
"No, not really, I'm good" she says right before I snatch her phone from her
"Hold her Ian" I say seeing as she's about to attack me
"Give me my phone Liz" she says struggling with Ian
"Ohhhhh, I see" I say looking at her then smiling suspiciously
"What, I wanna know" Ian says looking at the phone
"Ohhhhh, I also see" he says letting go of Cassie
"Ugh you guys are so annoying" she says looking angrily at us
"Well now you know so you have to promise not to tell a single soul"
"Okay, we promise" I say raising my right hand
"Okay, what's up with her" Ian asked motioning towards Ray who was just staring agitatedly at her phone
"Yeah Ray, what's wrong" I ask looking at my best friend
"I've been asking her that same question for the past 5 minutes but she won't answer me, she just keep staring at her phone" Mac says shrugging
"It's nothing don't worry, I have to go" she says standing up then exiting the cafeteria
"Okay that didn't seem like nothing" Mac says pointing out the obvious
"Well duh, captain obvious" Ian says rolling his eyes at Mac
"You two need to stop doing that" Mac say motioning towards Ian and I.
We laugh for a while and talk about random stuff  until Mac decided he wanted to get to Kelly better
"So Kelly right" he says rather asks
"Yeah"
"So, how long have you been in this school" he asks
"I actually just enrolled last year"
"Oh that's nice" he says
"So how do you know Charlie?" Cassie asks
"Yeah how do you know Charlie?" I also ask
"Well, we met during the summer at a place in England" she says
"Oh okay" Ian says just as the alarm signaling the end of lunch goes off.
We leave the cafeteria to go to our various classes.
The rest of the school day just passes by and before we know it the alarm signaling the end of school goes off. Ray usually meets me at my locker then we both walk out of school together, but for some reason she left school early today.
We all meet outside school to say our goodbyes as I walk with Mac towards his car while Ian and Cassie go their separate ways.

A/N: I promised you guys I'll try and make the chapters longer and I believe I'm trying. I wrote about 2000 words in this chapter which is like 19 pages on my phone (iPhone 5s) so I think I'm making progress. You guys should tell me what you think so far and don't forget to
