Walking home was a pain I didn't want to go home in fact I changed my mind and didn't. I turned around and walked to a newer by pond. Griffen Sat beside me and I place my hand on his horse like head, "thanks." I whispered. I felt watched but I ignored the feeling.
When did my life become so strange. It seemed like only yesterday when mom and I wold come to this pond and play in the water on shore. I wonder if I could go back to that life even dispute what has happened.
The overwhelming presence made me edgy enough to snap.
"Who's there?!" I demanded. Jeff came out from behind the trees.
"I would have thought you would have gone home already." He said.
"No, I don't think I could have even if I wanted to." I mumbled. He sighed and sat on the bank on the other side of Griffin.
"You got guts blowing off Slender like you did, I'll give you points for that. Normally none of us would have ever done that." He said with a small smile on his face.
"Well I'm not one of you so..." I inquired.
"You got a point." He said, smile fading. I looked at him.
"If you where in my position, what would you have done?" I asked.
"Not sure." He said bluntly. I sighed.
"Your hopeless, you know that."
"Yeah, I know." He said. I smiled, who knew. When he wasn't trying to kill you he was actually pretty fun to talk to.
"Whatever." I said rolling my eyes.
Griffen snarled at something across the bank. I looked and so did Jeff. There was a dark, sinister, threatening presence on the other side of the lake.
"You feel that too right?" I asked.
"Yeah and it's not one of us." He said bluntly. He looked a little on edge.
"I'll go cheak it out." I said.
"Are you out of your mind. I wouldn't be surprised if what ever that thing is, is trying to kill you!" He said.
"It could be after you too, ya know." I snarled. I walked around the bank shrouded by trees and bushes. If my hunch was right this was no human. If my hunch was correct it was a deamon or at least a spirit of some sort. Jeff fallowed me but slower and in sight of the thing. Idiot, he was going to get himself killed. I walked up behind the dark figure who's form shifted and flickered like a black flame. You got to be kidding me. Suddenly I felt searing pain in my back. Looking down I saw a long sword piercing through me. I gritted my teeth. The tip of the blade was covered in my blood, I could here the dripping as it hit the ground. I looked out upon the lake and the figure had a solid form this time. It was cloaked in black as well as a large hook like weapon with a long pole. I felt fear strike me.
Jeff came around the corner and I panicked. "Jeff get out of here! Quickly!" I screamed around the pain. The thing here was a reaper. A being that stole soles of the dead. Jeff realized this and looked wide eyed at me. "Go get out of here, I can take care of myself." He nodded and ran off. I returned my attention back to the reaper. God help me because this was going to be bad.
