Passion's Height

Oh beauty, my only, my dearest love
The star of my life, my pardon, my dove
How often I stop to gaze and to stare
To look at your beauty, no beauty compares
To feel such feelings, to hope such hope
To write my thoughts in a heartfelt note
As Dusk goes to dawn
The dawn fades away
Our love was then drawn
Our love meant to stay
That's how I saw our love at first after all
On the hill standing so tall
Gazing down at the city night
Wind through your hair like an angel in flight
The sun setting slow
And for all but who were below
Just her and me on the hill
Time seemed to stand still
So gentle, the embrace of our loving gaze
Cradling our hearts in its passionate blaze
Thats where I kissed you
Then time itself started anew
The sky fell to night
And all that showed was the city's light
I put my arm around you and felt your embrace
I felt my heart begin to race
We sat down, absorbing the view
Not of the lights, the sight of me and you
I could hear your breaths picking up speed
Love was a drug you also need
Holding your hand I bear a smile
Praying that this moment would last a long while
I look up, taking in what there was to see
The most beautiful girl sitting across from me
Nothing else mattered, I didn't care
I did the only thing I could, I just stared
We laid down, she cuddled near me
At last it seemed that my soul was free
Drifting, dozing, and fading to sleep
I awoke with my love in my arms to keep
