Before I joined Wattpad, I already wrote the first 3 chapters, so I decided just to post all three of them at once.                                                                                                                                           _____________________________________________________________________________

“AYE!  Wake up! Yer gonna be late for school, matey!”

I groan, turning to check my clock. 6:25AM. It isn’t even close to the start of school, and seriously too early for me to get up.  It’s all thanks to-

“ARR! Up now or ye will walk ze plank.”

“Shut up, Alex! It’s only 6:30!”

“But I want to play pirate’s adventure!”

That’s when Catnip shows up with mom and dad. Apparently he woke her up, too. It takes both my parents to restrain Alex and drag him to his room. I wait for the tell-tale click of the lock before I lie down. I hear mom and dad stomp off to their room and Catnip singing softly to her pet cat, Huntress.

It’s just another normal day in the Pendragon house.  I’m  Brandon, sixth grader and oldest child. Alex and I look pretty much like our dad—light skin, blue eyes, and blackish-brown hair. Catnip is a complete split of our mother, pale skin, blue eyes (we all have that), and golden brown hair. Our parents are       adventuring scientists. Dad studies marine biology, and I intend to follow in his footsteps. Mom studies DNA. Because of this, when she brought Catnip to work, her partners joked around, asking if she had cloned herself. Mom would laugh, saying, “YES! Of course!” Catnip would stand next to her, proudly holding her head high.

Catnip is the youngest member of our family. Her real name is Primrose, Prim for short, but ever since she was found hiding in some catnip, she’s been given that nickname and it stuck. When she was five years old, she found Huntress in the same patch of catnip, and we all decided to keep her.  At first, Prim simply called the cat “Kitty”. Soon, “Kitty” started coming home with live birds and rodents (sometimes dead), and Prim (I prefer to call her that) changed the cat’s name to “Huntress”. Huntress is her favorite joy, as opposed to our brother, who to her is “stupid, stupid, STUPID” Alex.

Alex is a troublemaker. He’s always fooling around, and that resulted in Alex having 20 afterschool detentions (of which none have been served). If you didn’t know him, you’d swear Alex is younger than Prim. He likes to pretend to be characters from movies, such as being a pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean, which can be seen in how he rudely woke me up earlier. He’s a big nuisance, enough said.

I yawned. Better get some sleep, I thought as I drifted off…

BEEP BEEP BEEP! BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEEEP!

     “Errk. Ooph!” BANG!

     BEEP BEEP BEE– CLICK!

“Finally,” I mutter.  I sit up in bed and rub my eyes. I blink to get used to the early morning light. Leaning forward, I checked the time. 8:01AM. About 1⅟₂ hours of sleep. I yawn and reach for my clothes to change into.

That’s when something pops up in front of my face.

     “AAAAAHHHHH!” Bonk!

     “Morning,” Prim says, giggling.
