"Lily! Adrian! Come have a drink," said Miranda. "We don-" I try to say but get cut off. "Sorry I forgot you guys are lame," said Miranda. God I hate her...well sometimes. "Miranda. I already told you why we don't drink," Adrian tries to jog her memory.
"Hey why don't we play truth or dare," I try to clear the now awkward space.
"Sure...lets play," says Miranda, "Lily truth or dare?"
"Truth." "Oh come on," complains Miranda, "why do you always pick truth? Live a little! Oh yeah I forgot, you don't know how to have fun."
Before I can stop, I open my mouth and say , "Fine. I pick dare."
"That's more like it! I dare you to...hmm lets see. I dare you to drink a cup of alcohol."
"Umm...I don't know."
"I knew she wouldn't-" Miranda starts but I cut her off by grabbing the bottle of alcohol from Josh, a senior. I instantly regret doing that because god knows who all put there mouth on this bottle. The taste of cherry hits me first. It's sweet and inviting, wanting me to drink more. And that's exactly what I do.
"Lily what are you doing," yells Adrian.
"Ha," says Miranda," This is great!" I can't stop drinking it. That is until Adrian rips the bottle from my hand. My head is already spinning from just drinking a little more than half of it. I actually feel...great? I don't know anymore. I was always told not to drink and that if I did it wouldn't taste good. But here I am craving more by the second.
"How could I have let her drink," Adrian yells.
"Oh relax," Miranda tries to calm Adrian down. Once again, before I can stop myself I'm grabbing the bottle back. This time finishing it. My head is already swimming in the goodness. When I finally put the bottle down I realize what just happened. Adrian is staring at me with eyes wide and Miranda and her other friends are smirking at me.
"I think I'm gonna be sick," I say.
"Oh you're fine. It was just a little over a half," Miranda tries to convince me. With that Adrian walks out, with me stumbling after him. "Adrian comeback!"
"Why? You drank when you're under age and I don't want to be responsible for that." I feel awful, and not just from the alcohol. But from having to put Adrian in this position to be responsible for me.
"Lily, come back and hang with us," yells Miranda. "Go ahead. I'm leaving," says Adrian.
